-- During my short time here in the City of Angels I have evolved my own etiquette for standing at the stalls without upsetting any of the other local & native cruisers:
1.- One should not occupy either of the end stalls;
2.- One should not stand next to a Thai of one's own accord, but leave one unoccupied stall between one and him;
3.- If a Thai wishes to stand next to one then that is up to him;
4.- If a Thai looks interested and responds to one's looks then it's probably alright to move to next to him at his invitation.
-- I've found that the above have been successful for me and for many an occasion.
-- Of course, if one should be truly answering a Call of Nature, or should there be circumstances beyond one's control, then the above need not apply.
