Sorry to burst some fantasies out there, but it is common and widespread among the multitude of hookup sites to have 'plants' to lure in guys who might want to meet them, but more importantly, might have a credit card. Sometimes the plants are real, but often they're fake -- a fact you learn after the hookup site has gotten your credit card.
