I know that it is much better than in 2000 when I went with a Thai friend (newly diagnosed with HIV) to the Red Cross clinic-the nurse joked that one option would be to take Baygon (insect poison)!!
Bangkok Christian was not any better-the young women at the triage centre giggled, pointed and laughed when my friend presented the prescription.
It is always sobering to go to Red Cross or HIVNAT to see the large number of guys who are positive. Usually, some recognisable faces from venues in Silom.
