Bangkok Mass Transit Authority : BMTA) can be quite useful, you can also check out the Transit Bangkok site (
Bangkok bus, MRT, BTS - All in one Guide).
However, I'd also recommend to get a printed bus map, as suggested by Khun Sextile.
