-- Y'day.,
02 may -
Labor day observed - I went to
BABYLON SAUNA.;
- ETA./ETD.: approx.15.45.-22.oo.hrs.;
- Adm'n.:
260.Bh., (possibly higher than usual as being on a public holiday?);
- Approx. a score or so around the outdoor's pool - let's guestimate at about 40%. being
farangs;
- Indoors neither the Dark room nor the smaller Steam-room was all that busy;
- INNER Courtyard - with Jacuzzi, larger steam-room & MORE rest cabins - and GF. Rest't.
OPENED at
17.hrs.; upstairs cafe
CLOSED;
- The gym. did
not seem to be all that well-used;
not many swimmers, either;
- Certainly
not a busy day, even after
17.hrs. when, from previous experience, many Thais would arrive;
- I noted that for the Jacuzzi when it was well ocupied or several couples/gps. were enjoying themselves & eachother then others would enter, but with just one or two therein the others tended to glance-in and then turn-away elsewhere - the herd instinct, perhaps?
- I went to supper at approx. 19.45.hrs. and stayed there about an hr. or so, during wch. time possibly another dozen-and-an-half other happy eaters - mostly
farangs or
farangs & companions - seen. Cheapest dish was Tuna Salad @
90.Bh.; most expensive Braised beef in red wine sauce @
180.Bh.; glass of house-wine @
130,Bh.; coffee/tea @
60./50.Bh.. Apart from the Head-waiter only one other waiter: a young lad, possibly just starting?, who made several wrong deliveries of food to diners - but accepted philosophically enough, as far as I could see.
- Most visitors started leaving before
21.hrs..
- Fewer staff apparently ON duty - maybe with fewer visitors then LESS need; Swimming-pool: only one waiter, Rest't.: Head-waiter and one asst., changing rooms: just one seen; one of the smaller changing rooms was
CLOSED. I did
not see howmany
masseurs were ON-duty. Did
not see any staff going-around and cleaning the rest-cabins; but presumably that was being continued, as the cabin into wch. my companion & I went was clean and stocked with a roll of toilet- tissue;
- I'd write that fewer obese persons seen than I feared, Let's write that a guestimate of visitors on that day being roughly
60%. Thais & other asians and 40%.
farangs - a good balance, I thought.
