The curfew is now only midnight to 4 am, and there are signs that in tourist areas like Phuket and Pattaya it will soon be lifted completely (although probably not BKK.)
The actual operation of the curfew seems pretty lax and the bars are open, most until the start of the curfew. In Pattaya I haven't seen a single soldier and people are still around after the official curfew. I'm told that in BKK there are check points, but they are waiving most cars through (especially farangs) and mainly stopping pick-ups and trucks.)
It may be differerent in the north and areas of BKK, but the general feeling is quite relaxed and the curfew is being tolerated rather than enforced. However the ball is in the red shirts court as to whether life can return to normal or not!
