In most major European cities, the park scene is part of your usual cruising plan.
A dude would start his evening by somewhat innocent looking bar-hopping in the local gayhood. This is where you socialize, exchange gossip, network, and possibly meet up a few new dudes for friendship and more.
Once you put those preliminaries of the evening behind you, you'd go for a bit of zestier entertainment as in bars/clubs with backrooms, private cabins, etc. Reasonably comfy and safe, those places are ideal for what they promise: quick, possibly satisfying, NSA sex.
Experienced cruisers know how to read each other. Few glances usually suffice, and the play is on.
A good top dude would have his 'admirers' who would always accept his offer to suck him or to get fucked by him. They would also let him look around and hook up with the 'new' guy or two - possibly a tourist or a visitor, or an even genuinely new face who moved into the hood.
A guy who still has it, then, carries on to one of the popular parks for some early morning fun in the bushes. Persistence usually pays off. A dude who would not get on his knees or bend over as the the case may be in one of the backrooms, coz he was too sexy, too hot or whatever (in his own eyes) knew that the park was his last chance to get laid on that night. Most guys scored...
And some guys are park aficionados only. They may not like the backrooms, bars, clubs, guys talking and openly socializing. Or they may not be happy to spend a few euros at any of these places. A few also said that they feared being seen by someone they knew either entering or leaving a gay bar... Like many of us here agree, every dude is a story for himself.
Yet, your typical gay cruiser's life would be almost unimaginable without those amazing encounters under the trees, in the bushes, with other dudes looking, passing, joining or re-joining the developing action.
