Actually, the nude beach was a very MAJOR hunting grounds for the interesting players. Watching the people swim away from the sight or head for 'a walk in the bushes', etc., made any talk superfluous. Our advances used to be thinly veiled but few people ever mentioned sex in any direct form:
"Wanna go for a nice swim before the crowds arrive?"- really meant that out there, behind the rocks, you could get some expectation of privacy and let the nature take its course?
"Wow, it is getting busy and hot here!" -really meant, let's hike away into the bushes. I really need a BJ and you seem to be a good candidate...
"Guys, we should be heading back home. Anyone got a place to themselves tonight?" - really meant, I am willing to play and will be happy to consider suggestions. It had absolutely nothing to do with any available private nest

"Joe, will you be going to the movies tonight?" really meant, Dude I am interested and will provide for couple of drinks, possibly a small meal, and certainly a private nest if you let me fuck you... (more drinks and bigger meals will come your way too if you are any good in bed
)
"Guys, see you here tomorrow..." really meant, I am done for the moment, but tomorrow is another day and the game starts all over again.
"Dude, you are disgusting!" in reply to the aforementioned "See you tomorrow..." - really meant, I am pretty interested in having sex with you. Make me an offer I cannot refuse.

A bit younger, smaller dudes felt a bit uncomfy about addressing bigger guys directly. A smaller dude talking to a bigger dude directly would radio only one message to the rest of the crowd unless the two dudes were known to be real life family/friends or were seen as one item (monogamous or not). A bigger guy addressing a smaller dude was doing what was expected of him but the smaller dude was supposed to be kinda 'undecided' at least, for the fear of being classified by everyone as being only 'too willing' to bttm.
All kinds of covert games would take place to overcome this specific problem. We would be exchanging the papers, cartoon books with little messages in them, and the connections were made pretty quickly. Once you had sex, the smaller guy would usually drop his shy attitude and the bigger guy would usually treat him with a bit of additional kindness signaling to the others that they are now 'friends'. Other tops (i.e. bigger guys) would start to show some legit interest in the smaller dude (i.e. bottom), too.
So much sex and hardly ever any mention of it...
