These days I always stay in the Welcome Plaza in Pattaya.
The welcome is located more or less across the road from the Boystown /Pattayaland area.

They charge 650THB per night, for a double room and are of a similar quality/size to the Pinnacle where I always stay when in Bkk.

Welcome plaza is very gay friendly and have no joiners fee, also has nice pool.You will find lots of gay farang staying there

Try to get a room with a sea view as they tend to be nicer.

As for taxis, Pattayas gay scene is all pretty central(except for Jomtien Beach) so there is no real need to get taxis to/from bars.

My fave bars in Pattaya are Dream Boy on Pattayaland Soi1 and Throb on Pattayaland Soi 3(boystown), for legal young looking guys...
