The new owner has painted all of the the walls yellow and changed the red carpet in the lobby to blue, as if this is going to make any real difference.(lol) Lobby furniture is gone substituted by four little stools. A few of the damaged seats in the auditorium have been replaced but many of them still exist.

A new projection system has been added to the mini theatre now showing bi-sexual & chix with dix dvds.

Unfortunantly, the elderly black cashier is still there, screaming & yelling, ad nauseum. Terminating him would be a major asset, I seriously doubt if anybody would miss him.

New urinals being installed in upstairs bathroom.

Vending machine selling beverage has been added upstairs--cashiers no longer sell them.

Air conditioning in auditorium doesn't always work.

distalshaft: I have been past the theater, but have never been inside. However, once upon a time when I lived in San Francisco, I used to work at the Nob Hill theater, and frequented the Campus Theater.

These were theaters that showed all-gay movies, but also had other attractions. The main one being the stippers they had doing hourly j/o shows. Both places had pretty good business, particularly on "theme nights," and when the headliners were on stage... Usually a porn star. Sometimes they had amature stripper contests, with a $100 prize.

During the j/o shows, the guys would start out stripping on stage, and then work their way into the audience, lap-dancing for tips. Each show was usually about 20 minutes. Always very hot, And VERY popular. Even considering that Campus Theater was in a really shitty part of town, they drew quite a crowd.

Each theater put in their own upgrades. The Campus added a video arcade with private booths, then added a small room with a couple of computers w/ internet access and loaded with porn. They also had a cruising maze, a smaller TV room, and a small theater downstairs for the 2nd string strippers.

Nob Hill already had the arcades, but put in the "Star Booth" which had a camera in it broadcasting to the other booths if you wanted to put on your own show. They also added a patio.

Later, they both went "after hours" a couple of nights a week, and it really got packed after the bars closed.

I'll have to make my way out to the TomKat at some point and check it out, just to see what it's like.
