Question Costa Rica

I have heard many good things about the gay scene in Costa Rica. Of course, the capital city of San Jose has a few hotels, bars, nightclubs, and bathhouses. The other place I've heard of is the beach community of Manuel Antonio, Quepos.

If anyone has any information regarding the gay scene, traveling to, or visiting in Costa Rica, I'd really love hearing from you.

Costa Rica is supposed to be one of the most gay places in central America...so let's gather and share the information!

I too would like to get a thread going here. I have been to CR three times, but with others who did not share my hobby and couldnt participate. It would be fascinating to see if the attitude of ticos is the same as Mexicans. I wonder if its cultural for the mexicans to be more approachable... or if its prevalent thruout the central/south american culture.

Costa Rica Vacations

We are thinking of a vacation to Costa Rica in early Dec 2004.
We would like to hear from others of some of the nicer gay guest houses to stay at. We enjoy a relaxing pool, with nice views (men), easy access to restaurants, bars & baths. At this time we are not planning on renting a vehicle, so all should be in walking distance or need to use public transportation, if any? From what I read there would be plenty of daily tours from most locations if we like.
Any help or information would be appreciated.
Thanks to all.
