Seems like my post of a year ago is gone and do not have a copy.
Chess cafe, the more gay bar, is closed. - apparently hospital opposite complained about the noise. Face-pic has a good number of guys. There are more massage places opening they all mainly have women but most have 2 or 3 guys. There are two on the road opposite Laos Plaza (the one to the fountain/ square). One night went to the first one Mandarina - actually had the manager give a massage and then stayed there overnight with him. Mentioned to him that I had been to the White Lotus that is further down the road and had a guy and not much happened and he was surprised. There is a large bar at the RHS side of the square with the fountain which is usually busy - has some good looking bar staff - one used to be my regular night time companion at Laos Plaza hotel before he started work there and now is too tired at the end of the evening (originally found him through face-pic and never wanted any money). A number of tuk tuk drivers outside the bar one who shouted out US@25 as I past. Have seen guys loitering near the fountain. Otherwise just keep eyes open as wander around the streets.

Thanks hcmpp; I always enjoy your reports and get good and accurate information. It's been about a year since I went to Vientiane. Always quiet but usually something - or someone -interesting to find. I enjoyed a place called Spider Beer Garden last time. Do you know if that's still around? Likewise, when I went walking around town, near the fountain, it seemed like there was some guy always offering his services.

Not come accross spider beer garden.
Went back to Mandarina and White rose and the first has more chance of action. Fountain still a possibility and just wandering around with eyes open gets you the occasional offer on the streets. Internet - face-pic still quite active.
