Question Is Uptown the NEW Midtown

Driving around WOOFS bar on Piedmont on Sunday and could not help but notice the gay guys driving and walking in what used to be an immigrant area. Now the area has many nice apartments and condos. IS THIS THE NEW GAY MECCA? It reminded me of what Midtown was like in the early 80's when a vibrant gay community thrived around 8th, P'tree and Piedmont, 14th St.

Now that area has been taken over by the rich and many gays can not afford to live there any more. Businesses and bars are gone. The percentage of gays in that area is probably 30% today, when it was about 85% in 1980. Midtown is being taken over, piece by piece. Do you think the GAY vibe is moving into the Piedmont / Lindburg / South Chershire Bridge areas?

Cool gays are still in midtown

not sure why you'd reach that conclusion.
lots of gay folks still in midtown and more moving in to midtown and midtown west and atlantic station. they're filling out the area nicely in many/all of the new places that are opening up.
