Hey there! Welcome to the group.
I started this group because I wanted a place for all of us to talk about getting healthy. I quit smoking about a month ago (I use the vaporizer now. TOTALLY worth it!), I've severely cut down soda (I used to drink about 3 liters a day. Now it's 2 liters every 3-4 days), and I'm learning how to eat healthy.
If you are already a fit guy, please feel free to share your tips.
If you are not, it CAN be done! I've only starting working out for about a month, but I've learned quite a bit. Here's what I know:
* Cardio is really important. My doc has been running for over 20 years and he tells me to do cardio (jogging, running, bike, elliptical, etc.) to a mild sweat for 20-30 minutes four times a week.
* GET A WORKOUT BUDDY! I've found that I tend to make excuses for not working out on a particular day (I still try to make excuses.) What's important for me to remember is that I'm doing this for me and no one else. Get someone that will encourage and push you a bit. If they want a BJ as a reward... even better.
* On the days you do serious working out, make sure you get protein all day long. (NOT JUST CUM, GUYS!) lol Protein, like carbs, will give you energy but protein takes longer to digest and helps the muscles to repair. Carbs are quick energy, but what doesn't get used is stored as fat.
* Make sure your body has time to rest. When you work out a muscle group, give that group a couple days rest before working it again. For example: If you do weights for your arms on Monday, don't work them again until at least Thursday.
* STRETCH OUT FIRST! This avoids injury. If you feel pain at any time, stop and give those muscles time to heal. The sore/burn feeling is different from pain.
* Talk to your doctor about a potential exercise program. If the doc can't help you, ask for a referral to a specialist. I'll be seeing a nutritionist soon to help me further with food intake. (This also helps me in case I made a mistake somewhere in here.) lol
