Cruising disaster, need help!

Tonight was my first time cruising. A guy got in my car and we were messing around, when some other guy came up to the window and said he'd report my license plate number if I didn't give him 20 bucks. I didnt have the money, so I drove away. Can he report my license plate? Would the cops actually look into it? Is this a common thing to happen?

Sounds like the two working a scam together. Watch out for hustlers at ABS's.

Most likely, the two dudes were in for some little extra dough, plus a possible kick out of it. Reporting your license plate is theoretically possible, but the law enforcement will ask for some sort of a proof. "I say - you say..." usually does not count.

Frankly, I would not do anything about this.

It also sounds like a set up to me. It seems unlikely that the cops would pay much attention to an anonymous tip without clear evidence of wrong doing. That is not to say they may not remember your number is you are seen in a known gay pickup spot. This does bring up the problem of personal protection while on the cruise. I still recommend hooking up at a public bar or ABS first. IMO you are less likely to be mugged or shaken down if someone else can identify who you left with.

While we are here, I would also like to mention another common hustle done in parks and ABS. Do not keep large amounts of cash or credit cards in your pants pocket. While your pants are down around your ankles and you are leaning back blissfully enjoying that sucking blow job, your "friend" could be cleaning out your pocket as well as your pipe. Then the great "Let me walk out first, so the clerk doesn't know we were in here together." That's as reliable as the "you blow me first, and then I'll do you" blow and go routine.

That gives me an idea for a new post, "And The Idiot Of The Week Award Goes To..." Check it out in the CRUISER LOUNGE section of the Forum.
