With the recent Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe vs Wade - Clarence Thomas has suggested that the court should review other cases that were based on the right to privacy. That could include gay marriage and even Sodomy laws that were used to outlaw gay sex.
The Attorney General in Texas has said if the Sodomy Laws are ruled by the Supreme Court to be legal again - he will enforce them. https://www.nydailynews.com/news/pol...mpa-story.html

It's a fear, in your head - like fearing nuclear war.
Even if it *might* happen in some worst-case scenario, don't plan your life around it. Roe's fall has not stopped abortion; some State restrictions have happend BUT overall numbers show abortion has actually gone up. Roe's fall was never meant to stop abortion; only to de-federalize the issue (return it to States) - and to clean up a decision that nearly all legal scholars agree, was very badly reasoned with something like 9 different opinions written, all with different, shaky reasoning. If gay sex is made illegal again in U.S.: It'll come from Sharia ie. Muslims. It's already started. Some town, in Minnesota I think, became very Muslim-friendly - with full support of local LGBT - and then Muslim-majority. At that point: City Council voted to repeal all LGBT recognition, shocking the gay locals who'd expected Muslim immigrants to feel grateful to LGBT. Since it's something that happened (present-day, neither distant past nor hypothetical future), it's a more realistic thing to worry about. Last edited by bla; 24th June 2024 at 02:14 PM.

I had not heard about that town and the Muslim's -
I was never saying gay sex would end - being against the law never stopped it in the first place - it was just the idea that the door could open to ending many of the legal protections it now has. The funny thing is the younger generations don't make a big deal about it - they are much more at ease with gays than the older generation like Clarence Thomas. The Muslim aspect is a very different issue and one that is going to be interesting to watch.
