It depends on the judge. End of story. He/she has the option to dismiss the case (which is NOT the same as dropping charges), or to suspend judgement, or to fine you court costs, or to throw you in jail (or a miriad of other options).

Kind of depends on what kind of day they are having and what relationship they have with your attorney (hence the importance of NOT accepting pro bono counsel ... you want your judge to know and respect (and do favors for) your attorney).
