Tsunami warning for Phuket (Jul 25,05)

Traffic along beachside roads on Phuket was in chaos last night as tourists and locals rushed further inland following a tsunami warning. The warning was triggered by an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale with its epicentre located near India's Andaman and Nicobar islands in the Indian Ocean. The governors of Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi ordered evacuation of residents in coastal areas following the warning.
