Been a little quiet here lately so I hope asking this question is in order.

I'm planning to take a guy 'off' for a month, travelling around the country, Phuket, Chiang Mai etc. What is a reasonable 'tip' for the month and how would you deal with the bar?

Realise it's a bit like 'how long is a piece of string?' but some/any guidance/help would be appreciated.

You need to negotiate with the manager of the bar to get some discount otherwise its bht400 X nbr of days the boy is offed. One boy I know told me about how much one farang paid the bar to offed him for a month plus and the bar also charge him inclusive of his rest days.
Paying the boy will be another issue you need to discuss with the boy. Try giving bht1000 per day if he agree....... let him know that all expenses are on you.
Just be sure you get the right boy to off as he will be with you the whole month.

First, unless you know this guy already and are sure you want to be with him for a month, I would suggest you tell him you want him to go with you for a week (or two) and see how it goes. It will be easier to extend his off if you two get on well than to decide you don't want him along for a month and send him back early. Also, some guys will not want to be away that long without spending a few days back where they are living. Try to break it up. You'll probably be connecting through BKK anyway.
As for his fee, if it were me, I'd give him 1500 per day. He would probably be satisfied with $1000 though.

Thanks, it is someone I know but I have never offed for this length of time. We shall be through Bangkok between trips so that is covered too.
