Planning a Thai holiday

I am planning a holiday to Koh Chang Island because of its reputation of unspoiled beauty...is there any gay life at all there? I am not looking for go go bars....but it would be nice to know if a friendly thai boy could be a companion and guide for a week

Ko Chang

Unspoilt beauty ? Not sure about this because I am said that Ko Chang is rapidly changing and not for the best.
There is no gay bar in Ko Chang but no one will frown upon you if you bring your own candy that you will have found, say, in Pattaya or Bangkok.
Be prepared to pay the new 400 bahts fee for entering a National Park (thai pay only 80 THB), which is a little bit steep when you think that they doubled the price and kept the scandalous two-tiering between (assumed) rich farangs and (assumed) poor thais.

National Parks fees

From another topic in Bangkok Post , it seems that only travel agent and thai will benefit from the delay. Individual visitors would already have to pay the new fee (which for me will mean a complete boycott of national parks if I cannot get the thai price)
Hope the entrance to the cruising parks will remain free !

I've always found that by showing my Thai driving license, I get the Thai price at national parks. It's also worked at tourist traps such as Dream World and Safari World, etc. I've not been to Alkazar or Tiffanys in years, so I can't say if it will work in places such as that. But, maybe I was just lucky and this wouldn't work every time.
