They are able to hold someone who has been caught red-handed committing a crime, until the cops come -- just like anyone other citizen. Beyond that, they have no powers of investigation, interrogation, detention, or arrest. They're just farmers in snappy uniforms.

-- Thank you.
- From yr. reply I would presume that the phrase: 'Caught red-handed ... .' contains the operative words? Arresting and/or holding on suspicion are/is not within their powers.

-- My elderly & frequently visiting farang friend told me that on friday, (30th.), evening he visited the Chubbies' Bar, (BEARBIE, bar & karaoke.), 82, Si Lom 4.;
- Several men outside or on the narrow & twisty stairs were smoking. Usual farang's
thoughts about: 'What if there were to be a fire ... ?';
- Inside was nearly shoulder-to-shoulder: a mixed assembly of men of many types & not all of them either chubby or bearded;
- He did not stay long - not even for a drink - as it was too crowded for him and the karaoke wasn't really to his tastes.

-- For those who prefer young men who are in the building/construction trades a visit to the former TASTY THAI. - Suriwong rd. & roughly opp. to LE MERIDIEN HTL. - might be worthwhile?

-- There is refurbishment work occuring, also, in the former Thai furniture shop at the start of Si Lom 6., opp. to the STD. CHARTERED BANK. But I don't think that the workers there are as eyeable as those at the former TASTY THAI. But then 'Beauty is in the eye ... .'.

Building/construction workers ... .

-- Passing through Tnn. Thaniya, (aka. Little JP.), today, (20th.), a'noon. I saw a couple of eyeable & young construction workers at the former Hostess Bar that's at the corner of the short tunnel - same side as THANIYA TWR. - that leads through to several JP. clubs and to Thaniya soi 2., (ATRIUM and back ent'ce. to JUPITER 2002. & to the S'WONGSE. HTL.),.
- Interesting & interested glances were exchanged.

The mall - tha phraya

-- Y'day., (19th.), evening I visited THE MALL - THA PRAYA - Ratchada Phisek rd., Khet THON BURI;
- ETA.: 17.15.hrs.. I would have arr'd. earlier but was delayed in my friends' hair dressing salon and thus took a taxi thither.
- Plenty of young & mostly female shoppers, but also a few bits & pieces of eye candy seen; but not, alas, where one would wish to & could see more of them.
- Possibly a matter of timing? Or, as my Enthusiastic & American Friend would say: 'It's a crap shoot.'.

-- For my return journey I took a one of the infrequent #15 'buses. from in front of & on same side of rd. as THE MALL; that eventually went along Si Lom rd., before passing-by SIAM P'GON. and terminating at SANAM LUANG.
- Fare & journey-time to BKK. XTN. HOSP'L.: 07.Bh. & 50mins., ( late rush hr.),.
- Making enquiries I was told that there is no public tpt. thence to BTS. WONG WIANG YAI, (S8.), approx. 1.4M. away.

This would be sad but not surprising if true. The last time I was there (four or five visits in May), I got the feeling that it was on its last legs. Crowds way down, many of the regulars I have seen/known over the years absent, and closing earlier than the usual 8pm. I initially blamed it on the conflict...hope it isn't true. I have had years of great sex there...and after the Capital closed, the Prince became my main suck cinema.

BIG C - R'damri..

-- Y'day., (22nd.), a'noon. tee rak & I walked along R'damri. to look-at CENTRALWORLD & BIG C..
- There was work continuing at C'WORLD., with ten or so large dumper trucks o'side. awaiting debris & spoil from the burnt-out part of ZEN.
- However, at BIG C., where there is a v. high & metal wall situated along the sidewalk, all were quiet and with no signs of any activity at all.

What cruising spot is this in reference to? On Nut is a skytrain stop as far as I know.

On Nut is the station: Tesco/Lotus downstairs bathroom is the crusing spot. One of the busiest in Bangkok but now that it is all shiny...the janitrice looked more determined to stamp any cruising going on. Could be that because they were closed for renovations for 6 weeks, people have redirected their crusing somewhere else.
Usually no commercial venture: just horny men. All sorts,all ages. Good fun in the past.
