Inquiring minds over here in the USA would love to know who The Pest is -- if only to avoid it.

-- Obviously I cannot give either the person's name or too much pers. info., can I?
- But once one's seen him - a portly, short, mature & US. snow bird. - at work clearing an hawng nahm one will know! (Vide supra posting #11.),.
- But surely yr. enquiry should be addressed to this topic's Originator, shouldn't it?

If I remeber correctly, a year or two ago, someone mentioned in this board that the originator of the thread is no longer with us.

and as back to the original subject: Big C has an awful lot of shops or rather supercenters here in LOS. I have reported about the one (an older-rebuilt from a former central deptmt. store) on RamKamHeang road. Near the foodcourt in the basement I have been proposed quite a few times-but I am not really into that kind of sport. The foodcourt is awful now, dark, damp and expensive. I only use it for the free toilets.
But the toilets on floors 4-5 , near the BigC and some former bookshop, now closed also turned to be former play-space. many holes in walls were closed by whatever they could find, and the former only half-high walls were with some cardboard etc. also made up till ceiling. Must be a big job for BigC tio maintain its low prices with all that maintenance on toilets.

Serious business - call the FBI quickly before we all get murdered in our beds. Personally I'll not sleep until he's in jail and the key is thrown away.

Is there not a case for acceptance, gays are normally pretty serious about everybody being accepted for what they are, but here you seem to want to discriminate against one guy because he makes it a bit difficult for you to go about your pleasures.

Or do you guys think the various Bangkok toilets are your personal domain and only open to a certain profile?

He was an inconsiderate cruiser -- that was the reason he was called "the pest". "No" means "no", and don't intrude on other people's scenes when you're not wanted.

So does that mean I'm not welcome to cruise the designated 'venues', where there seems to be a local kangaroo court of who's not welcome.

Never mind, i'll not bother to share my list of 'venues'.

You seem to prefer to pick a fight instead of just stopping to understand what this guy's problem was, which was that he would try to insinuate his way into the scene when two cruisers were trying to become intimate.

Ie., he would move in close and stand there and stare until the two people felt so uncomfortable that the encounter was cut short -- despite being given obvious signs that he was interrupting. He completely had no respect for people's personal space, or the consideration to move on when it became clear that he was an unwanted third wheel.

That is very poor, pest-like cruising etiquette.

Understand now?

-- The latest news on any impending visit to the LoS. by 'The Pest.' is that he will not be visiting this year - olde age has caught-up with him, (as it'll do with most of us.);

-- E&OE. as above info. is courtesy of my American & WYSIWYG. friend who keeps in touch with him.

Well I'd sure want old age to catch up with me outside the U.S. And I bet the guy would be healthier in Bangkok. As long as someone could survive the flights, I don't see why they'd want to exist in the U.S. when they can exist in nicer places (nicer for an older person). Check out the book, The East, The West, and Sex. The funniest part is the chapter on Thailand, and an American guy living in Thailand goes back to his midwest U.S. city (I think in Kansas) for a visit, and someone was talking about his lawnmower, and this guy thought, "I've got to get out of here."

-- Interestingly enough my American & WYSIWYG. friend returns annually to the USofA. for health checks, any necessary surgical ops. and suchlike; most of the costs being covered by Vets'., Medicare & Ins'ce. wch. I doubt if elderly folks would enjoy here.
- But I'd agree that if one can stay reasonably fit & well then BKK. would probably be as good a place, and better then many another, in wch. to enjoy one's retirement.

i thought the burning down of big c was the main cause of ceasing his cruising activity there. or are there parts of big c that are open for cruising after the fire?

-- Not so!
- 'The Pest.' is what we in FL. used to call a 'Snowbird.' - one who flees the Nawth to escape winter's snows;
- Tee rak & I passed-by BIG C - R'damri. just over a fortnight back; at that it was shut tighter than the proverbial ... ! Little if any signs of any obvious work in progress then.
