Chang Mai

Am considering staying at the Lotus Hotel in Chang Mai. I understand that it is gay owned. Any positive or negative comments about it would be appreicated.

I stayed there several years ago.. it's more a guest house style, but not too bad.. convenient as the Apple Bar is just opposite, nice popular bar.. but quite a way from the city center/night market

Stayed there very recently. very pleasant and convenient. only a short tuk tuk ride from anywhere. stayed in one of the 3rd floor suites, very nice and reasonably priced. did a couple of tours with sathon from the hotel - very nice guy and good driiver and guide

Adams Apple is now closed.

-- While it's several yrs. since I've been to Chiang Mai I've stayed every time at the 'MONTRI HOTEL.' -
2-6, Ratchadamnoen rd.,
Thapae gate,
Chiang Mai, 50200.
- contact: tel.: (053)-211069-70. -- 'fax.: (+66 53)-217416 --- montri_hotel@hotmail.com -- www.norththaihotel.com/montri.html
If you are unable to view the hotel's web-page then try search-engine Google.
- From memory rooms are not expensive and are priced upon whether one wants to face the main rd. or otherwise.
- There was no coffee-shop/rest't. as being under the hotel's direct mngmnt., but there was a separately owned & managed coffee-shop as part of the main bldg..
- This htl. is g*y-friendly, and I've had no problems previously.
- NB.: The above info. is several yrs. stale and may be out-of-date!
- Usual disclaimer - no interests, either financial or otherwise in this estab't..
'bye..

Last August my boyfriend and I spent a week in the
Royal Lanna, in the middle of the night market and close
to the outdoor gay bars. We were treated very well,
and I would stay there again.
