At this time of year, you can knock 50% or more off the rack rates.

I don't think gays are the only ones who come to Bangkok to hook up!

Quite true! But, there's no obvious check of joiners coming in, there's even a door the by-passes reception......and if you look around the breakfast room the majority of "couples" are PLU's !

Long Back I visited Egypt and stayed at the Four season there. A friend of mine had told me that every man in Egypt is horny, I just laughed it off then but during my stay there, I got fucked by the bell boy, 2 room service guys, a house keeping guy and the masseur at the spa.
Considering it a very lucky streak I left Cairo for Aswan but my streak followed me there too. On my second day in Aswan, my hotel receptionist who had just given me the key as I walked into my hotel called me as I entered my room and told asked me if I wanted a massage. It was 10.30pm and I told him I thought the spa was closed. He told me the hotel had masseurs available for late night massages. Hmm...I was curious and tired so said sure why not.
at 11.15pm he came to my room, this tall 6'3" nubian man (the same receptionist) and asked me to disrobe. I got all naked and he asked me to lie on my back. He kept his pants on but removed his shirt to reveal a zeus like physique. He took some lotion in his hands and put my feet on his chest and massaged the lotion from my feet towards my buttocks in one long stroke and continued on the sides of my torso. That was as far as he massaged me because in the very next instance he leaned towards me and started sucking on my nipples.....the rest is some very memorable history involving a lot of moaning, borderline screaming, a 10+ inch cock, a very sore butt and a lot of cum.
I have had similar experiences in Indian hotels.

Anyone had anything like that in a thai hotel?

-- It was approx 20yrs. ago that I visited BKK. for my v. first time, and like most others stayed at the then notorious SURIWONGSE HOTEL, wch. I cont'd. to do for the next 15 or so yrs.
- But while I had many fabulous times there - as did many another, were one to believe their reminiscences - nothing quite as good your travellers' tales - lucky you!
-- During my 14 or so yrs. of on-and-off svce. in KSA. I worked with many Egyptians, I wasn't turned-on by any one of them. The gen'l. consideration amongst the ex-pats. is that they'd sell you to the Muttawah, (Religious Police.), as willingly as they's pimp their grand-mothers.

don't know where to post this

I really don't know where to post this so I am trying here.
I am normally pretty picky about the hotels I stay at and most of the hotels I have liked in BKK seem to be in the riverside area. Now I understand the action is all in Sukhumvit so my question is, can someone please tell me if its gonna be really far to keep driving up and down between the two area please.
Also....I will be hiring a day taxi and not riding the metro so I ask.

What action are you talking about? The only thing in Sukhumvit, really, are a few massage parlors (notably Hero, Albury, B&N if still open, Body Club, and the Ambassador Hotel health club).

The bar action is mostly in Silom and Saphan Kwai, the sauna action is all over (Silom/Sathorn, Ramkhamhaeng, Saphan Kwai). Suck cinemas are at Saphan Kwai, the riverside area (the Prince), Samrong (the State), Chinatown, and Nonthaburi (Nonthaburi Rama). Cruising is all over the place.

Anyway, to answer your question: yes, during most of the days it will take you probably 45 minutes to travel by taxi from the riverside to Sukhumvit. But there is plenty nearby to keep you busy: saunas (Heaven, Sauna Mania, Babylon), bars, massage parlors (Aqua, Adonis, Senso, Fan Club, K-Why, Arena), etc., etc. Nothing you'd need to commute to Sukhumvit for, that's for sure.

ah! k....I just googled Bangkok gay area and dreadednet.com pointed me to Sukhumvit.
Oh well, it is good I can stay at the riverside hotels then.
I'm more interested in the Massage places. And going by the entries on the massage blog Indira, Senso and one other on that I can't remember now is on my list.
Besides that want to go check out some good Go Go bars - tawan and the like.

One of you guys should open up a tourisim office, you know...fill out a question form on likes and dislikes and what a person is into and present an checklist. Its just wishful thinking I am in Thailand for practically a month's holiday. But only keeping 4 days for BKK. Saving most of my trip for Koh Samui, Krabi, Phi Phi and Phuket.

-- Agreed, that's 100%. for sure.
- As you'll be in BKK. for only a few daze just focus your att'n. on the area roughly enclosed by Thanon Rama IV., Tnn. Sathorn Tai, Tnn. Charoen Krung & Tnn. Suriwong - there are a few places outside that generalised area worth visiting: such as BABYLON SAUNA; in ChinaTown there are the suck-cinema & GSM. SAUNA; PLUS the a/m. mentioned massage parlors along Tnn. S'vit. such as HERO, B&N. and so on.
- Suggest that you look-in at BALCONY BAR - Si Lom Soi 4. - and/or MAXI'S BAR - Soi Twilight: off Tnn. S'wng. - and pick-up a few freebie mags. & pocket maps, they may not exactly accurate as regards loc'n. but they'll give you a rough and sort-of idea.

Thumbs down Avoid Montien Hotel

I tried Montien hotel once this year, thinking that it would be so convenient for Tawan Bar and also to get foot massages and going around the city.

Boy, was I wrong. The rooms were dirty and smoke-smelling, service and courtesy were only at surface level, and not very helpful staff when I requested to change a room because of the cleanliness and smell.

The only thing that I started enjoying was the breakfast, but my experience turned to disgust when I spotted a cockroach near some plates of food.

I cancelled my remaining nights and went to the Tarntawan Place which I spotted when I passed by to go to Tawan Bar. Considering the price is 2000+ THB, the Montien's 4000+ was way overpriced, and hardly worth it. There is also a notice about bringing your guest back to the room, I didn't try coz it was the first night I arrived I didn't bring a boy back, but I'm so glad I went to Tarntawan Place.

Avoid the Montien at all cost!
