Bangkok Update

Will be in Bangkok next week and wonder where to go first. I love places like NB, but what are the hot recommendations at this time? Any advice appreciated.

Tom,

Nature Boys, Golden Cock, Super A, et.al are now exactly what they have always been....filthy, dirty bars with the WORST choice of boys anywhere in The Kingdom. They have NOT changed in 15 years. That's why I love them as much as I do.

On the other front, Screw Boys closed, moved, moved back and opened again. People who like the place like it. Those who don't, don't.

Nothing ever changes much in BKK. Soi Twilight is as boring as ever. The street touts now knock you off your feet in order to drag you into their respective bars. The "music" is too loud, the boys are bored out of their minds, drinks cost too much, the mamasans are too pushy, most of the boys are straight, none want to do much with you, the hung ones demand excessive amounts of money to perform, the shows are ridiculous and could easily put you to sleep on any given night.

Welcome back. We've missed you.

Saphan Kwai is now just a nice memory. Only "Charming" bar (if you like to pick from bored looking college boys sitting facing you.) They just want to pay their way through school, but you can meet some nice horny "amateurs" there.

In Silom I'd still start with Screw Boy as the most fun and flirty bar...its worth going to see the 2 go go boys thrashing around in front of the shufflers. Last time I was there they let a twinky, but slightly podgy farang strip down to his jocks and join the boys on the stage. He thought he was hot, but compared to the Thai boys, "white men can't dance" was never truer!

So after a couple of days in BKK...why not head here to Pattaya for some real fun??

But seriously, I thought you were telling me to forget Pattaya and head north where the good times never stop.

I ain't takin' you to the bars, Sis. They're SO "last year"....or in this case, so "10 years ago".

I sure I'm in the minority here but I still think Soi Twilight is the best place. Boys r better looking and mamasans can be very helpful once they know u. I suggest giving them an introductory 100 baht tip beforehand. My favorite mamas are Tong at Dreamboyz, Thuan at Boys Bangkok and that fattish Chinese looking waiter who used to work at Dick's at X-Boys (don't remember the name but it's the 1st bar on your right when u come into the Soi). They are pretty honest in their assesments of the boys.

I think Saphan Khwai is a waste of time: lots of Thai customers but not too many boys. I was in Pattaya for only my second time last weekend and didn't think much of it. Granted I was there too short a time to like anything - my Thai friend's theory is that the boys there are accustomed to not doing much due the average age and proclivities of their customer base

My Thai friend's theory is that the gogo bars were intended for older guys and the less attractive. If you were young, energetic and attractive, why would you need to look/pay for guys on display in the bars?

It is easy to see that a lot of the residents of Pattaya aren't up to some stressful activities like:

I agree to a certain extent but I think that sooner or later u will have to pay. What's the time period for being young, energetic & attractive? Even u r good looking there will be those u cannot pull. In my case, I am usually in BKK for 2 days and I don't want to waste it chasing after those I may or may not get.

This is to say that the previous night bar hopping was shit ..

Every-one visiting this site pays for sex! Its not just an age thing in Thailand. Even 20 years ago (when I was considered young and attractive) I would reward or help out the thai guys who slept with me......the philosphy is its only fair for those who have more to give a little to those with less..and even then, some would (and still) buy me gifts in return. (Last month a guy I had offed twice bought me a birthday present worth 3 times what I'd paid him!)

One day in Funny Boy there were some really hot young Russian guys in their 20's (quite lusted after them myself). I asked one of the bar boys if he liked them...yes of course! I asked if he had been with any. No! he replied...they want it for free!

I get regular massages (real not sex) from the cutest, straightest 21 y.o. thai. Whilst he has refused all attempts to seduce him (damn!) he says "phom mai choop bpen gay" (I dont want to be gay) we still talk about sex a lot. When I said he must have lots of girls chasing him for sex he replies "mai chai, mai mii ngen" no, can't afford it. Even young guys pay for sex in Thailand.

Thank you for your post, Biggles. I agree with you 100%!! As I wrote earlier, clearly this new poster has never set foot inside The Kingdom. People who have never been here don't realize how different things are here.....which keeps those of us who live here posting about our experiences. Thanks again for the post!!

Adding to that the constant flow of young Singaporeans,Honkys and those from other parts of Asia who make up a large segment of Twighlight go-go audiences.Asians from Australia and other western countries use these venues as well not to mention local Thai.

It is not all farang centric.Try especially Dream Boy and Jupiter to witness the old cliche be no longer valid

I agree with most of that post. I usually avoid Soi Twilight; overpriced bars with a bunch of dancing clones, and extremely pushy and annoying touts and doormen on the soi. But ... I've been to Hot Male twice in the past month and was impressed by what they offered. Plus, I don't enounter the hovering, annoying mamasan syndrome when I'm inside the bar; they tend to leave you alone and watch the "dancers."

A trip to Screw Boy last week was very disappointing (after being very impressed last month). The crew looked bored, bloated and old. I remember the good old days when the average age of the bar boys seemed to be 19-20. Nowadays most places are looking more like 25-plus. Nothing wrong if that's what you like, but I prefer more of that dark, slim Isaan and/or teen look. And I'm not seeing it much anymore in the bars.

Buzzard,

I've been to HotMale twice in the past 6 weeks and agree with you 100%....as Soi Twilight bars go, it's probably the best right now. Even though I despise the "shows", I have to give this place credit for their fucking show. Both times I was in there recently, the fucks were quite energetic.

I still recommend giving the rest of Soi Twilight a pass. Nothing any further down the soi is worth putting life and limb in jeapordy with the idiot touts.
