Phuket 2007

Any recent reports on the Phuket bar scene? Is it dead, thriving, or in a coma? I haven't been there in 5, maybe 6 years, but may go and visit soon just to get out of Bangkok and see something - or someone - different.
Looking for go-go bars with a good selection (more than 5 guys working in the bar), and also a good hotel or guesthouse. I'm a bit cheap when paying for accommodation (but not quite in the backpacker category!), so I prefer something under 1,200 baht per night.

Was there about a month ago. Weather terrible with strong winds, showers and beach closed. Bar scene tired. Passport is my favourite....just at the entrance to Paradise complex...about 10 boys....flirt and mix easily with clients.........I found a nice boy in the bar / massage a couple of shops along the soi....otherwise nothing took my fancy. Only stayed 2 days. Hotels there very expensive compared to Pattaya and even BKK. In fact everything in Phuket very expensive & geared to tourist trade.

I just returned from 6 weeks in Phuket. I stayed in Connect where you can get a room for 850Baht per night. Bars are okay. I enjoy My Way and found a nice guy there who I spent most of my time with. The beach was fine - there are a couple of young guys that I met there that also were worth my time - even if they asked for money after. Spartacus massage across from Connect has several hot looking guys who give a good massage as well as extra!! Also had some hot times at Aquarius sauna - not all the guys are looking for money, although there are some who are. I hope you go as I am sure you will enjoy yourself!

Superboys which is the Nature Boy/ Golden Cock equivalent in Patong has a better selection of boys than in the past. But do not use the room upstairs - that is the Super A equivalent.

I have found that taking boys from Jungle Boys (part of Siam Palm Hotel) or some of the pool bars or other small bars in Paradise is more rewarding than some of the mainstream go go bars ie into rimming etc. I also like Passport and offed a new "20" yo on his first day there (second day in Phuket) that was really edible.

There used to be a few good male masseurs at the shop in front of Patong Beach Bungalows, but that has all been knocked down (having been rebuilt after the Tsunami) and seems to be being turned into a shopping complex - failed to find out where those guys went. Khai at the massage place which is the first one on the right as you go up Old Post Office Road (off the Beach Road) gives a good massage.

Plan to go there this Dec. Which one better to stay: Aquarius Guesthouse or Club One Seven Bed & Breakfast? What about it's clientele? Which one better?

Anyone stay there lately? Thanks for your reply.

The bar scene in Patong seems vastly different to that in Bangkok and is not particularly seedy. Most of the bigger bars (like My Way) have some gogo boys, and also lavish shows which seem to go on for an eternity. Drink prices are very cheap at BHt 100 compared to Bangkok's BHT 200+ in many places.

Spartacus is a great place to go for a massage, wtih a very helpful mamasan, and a good selection of boys. Mr An was very good, and wanted to go straight to the sex. An has great oral and bottoming skills. Only Bht 300 for an hours "massage". No massage rooms as such, but massage beds on the floor in curtained off areas.

Superboys, was dirty and sleazy and very smoky, and I didn't stay very long as none of the 8 or so guys were to my taste. Most expensive bar at Bht120 for a drink There was tattooed guy with longish hair that reminded me of the one in Nature Boys in Bangkok

Boat Bar is slow and with bad music. A gin-and-tonic costs 140B. Poor imitation of DJ Station in BKK.

There're quite a few MONEYBOYS at the Aqarius Sauna.

I really liked the Boat Bar - I think they do OK for a free to enter place that exists in a soi with lots of competing bars and relatively few punters.

They do a show most nights with the dancers from Simon Cabaret. Never more than a torso bared, but the boys are all hot, and seem to mingle freely. I particularly fell in love with the cropped hair Japanese looking boy. If only Mr. Spoonfed was not with me at the time...
