Daytime options?

I was in Bkk for a few days last week "to get over the jet lag". I'm due to return tomorrow.

Having read about the police action towards Westerners at the cinema near 39 sauna I didn't dare go there last week. It's difficult for me to resist that place though. Has anyone been in the last month and was it ok?

Any other cinemas worth a try?

Any other daytime options to suggest?

Thanks very much guys.

1.- 'PRINCE.' CINEMA,
1391-93, Charoen Krung rd.,
Bang rak.;
- dir'ns.: Walk-down Si Lom rd. away from RIV. rd.;
At Charoen Krung rd., (it's about as far as one can go in the same gen'l. dir'n.), where you'll see a wh. on bl. sign 'Bangrak.', turn LEFT;
Cross-over Si Wiang rd.;
Then look-out for an 'Agfa.' photo-shop on yr. RHS.;
You should have stopped just past an hair-dressing salon, after wch. there is a small and covered passageway - possibly with tables & chairs set-out in it - at the bottom of wch. is the cinema: if you look you'll see their box-office.
Walking time from Phat Pong is approx. 40mins.
2.- There's another one about 5mins'. walk from Klong Thoei MRT. stn. - fuller details were you to scroll-thorugh the appropriate thread - it's called 'Suck Cinemas up-date.' I believe?
3.- Another one in Chinatown roughly opp. to the 'White Orchid Htl.' on Yaowarat rd..
4.- 'BANKHAE RAMA.', for wch. you'll have to take a #547 'bus. to 'The Mall - Bankhae.' - roughly 1hr's. ride.;
It's behind the 'Petchkassem Mkt.' and more or less opp. soi 62/3.;
- Again possibly MORE info. in a/m. thread?

-- Doubtless there are other daytime pastimes like Massage Parlors and so on and so forth, for wch. I'm sure that others have much MORE info..

Don't forget that ALL cinemas and public places are at your own risk.

Just to report back that I did eventually pluck up enough courage to visit the cinema near 39 sauna (with Icon's last words here very much at the forefront of my mind)

I didn't notice anything (more) unusual (than usual!) and I eventually relaxed and had a good time, only the usual sort of "arresting" sights, I'm pleased to say!

I then returned another day and didn't manage to hit it off with anyone I fancied, but that's just the way it goes...

Of course, my limited experience doesn't mean it's "all clear" - can only conclude for sure that it was ok for me.

Thanks sextile for pointing me in the "right" direction but apologies for not trying out any of the other places suggested
