A Thai friend has mentioned a new sauna in the Samrong area (approximately across from Imperial Samrong, adjacent to Samrong Market). I think it's called "August".

Might be interesting, as that area is full of horny working class boys (from my experiences cruising the stalls at Imperial Samrong, and the back rows of the nearby State Theater).

Zeed seems interesting. But Sextile's remark it is closed is not so interesting... the site is still running, can anyone confirm it's open or closed?

I often avoid "working class people" as sex partners because I am not sure about their sense of hygiene. Any opinions? For that matter, I get the impression that massage boys have a better knowledge of diseases and are in fact "safer" than strangers at the sauna. Again, any opinions?

My opinion -- based on a sampling of many hundreds -- is that working class Thais are no more or less hygienic than middle and upper class Thais.

-- Looking-at my copy of Bangkok City Atlas, 4th. edn. - ISBN. 978-974-94407-8-1. & price 250.bh. - I see that the SAMRONG area in wch. we might be interested is sit'd. roughly around Sois Sukhumvit 111 to 113. - Google Earth would suggest: 100. 35'. 33".E. x 13. 38'. 59".N. - wch. is approx. 4M. beyond BTS. On Nut, (E9.),.
- My map of 'buses'. routes* shews that from the BTS. #2., 23. & 129. ply thither; from Rama IV. rd. there should be #45.. Probably adviseable to re-check beforehand.
- * Bangkok Bus Map, version 2. - ISBN. 978-974-525-045 -7. & price 69.Bh..

From the viewpoint of an Asian: I went to a couple of saunas this past weekend.

1/ Babylon: didn't like at all. not my taste ..
2/ Sauna Mania: what eye candy! got extreme attention from a muscle thai guy. i was surprised how good looking and horny some of them were ..

-- Y'day., (29th.), a'noon. I went-out to SAM RONG - an area that has been terra incognita to me.
- I took the BTS. to ON NUT, (E9.),.
- Thence by 'bus.: #2., a freebie ride to S'vit. 113., wch., as the 'bus. was o'crowded. with OUT of skool yoofs, I missed and thus didn't de-bus. until we were over the khong and at Tnn. Thepharak.
- I walked-back until I came to IMPERIAL WORLD, (not to be confused with 'IW.' LAD PHRAO!), wch., I noticed, included a BIG C. - for further info. see other thread Cruising spots.
- I stayed about an hr. there before deciding to return.
- I caught a returning #2. wch., for some reason, did not go to ON NUT - the conductress pointed to a yellow sign hung outside. So I had to take another 'bus. instead.

-- At ON NUT I did not cruise around LOTUS-TESCO; since the inst'n. of the small inter-stall dividers it has become a waste of time going there.
- I then went to AGAYA MASSAGE - see other thread.

-- But now that I'm a bit MORE familiar with SAM RONG I shall return there and see this fabled AUGUST SAUNA and anyother places.

- Is the STATE what one would term a 'Suck cinema.', and does one encounter money-boyz therein as in some other cinemas?

Same side of the street as Imperial World, but a couple hundred yards before (closer to the center of town). You can see the theater marquee if you look, but the theater is way back behind a couple rows of dilapidated old commercial buildings. It is a suck cinema, no money boys I have ever seen. But it is very quiet; nothing like the Phaholyothin. Maybe you'll find half a dozen cruisers at any one time.

I think the cinema is the rectangular building with eight white dots on the roof, at the center of this satellite image:

Bangkok, Thailand - Google Maps

The huge structure south and east is Imperial World.

Good luck!

Dear Mr. S Tile, Wat Dan Samrong is along Sukumvit soi 113. From Sukumvit Road, go along soi 113 for 390 meters. On the right hand side is a sub soi which seems to have no name/number, but it is between soi Samrong Nuea 4 and 6.(sois with the name Samrong Nuea are those on Sukumvit soi 113 starting at Sukumvit end....I have no idea why they are not called Sukumvit soi 113 soi 2 and etcc...but you get my drift??). Now when you get to this sub soi apparently with no name or number, enter it and Wat Dan is 100 meters down there on the left. It's possible that the illusive sauna is near the corner.
Wat Dan can be seen at 13. 38. 46 and 100. 36. 00 on G. Earth with amazing clarity.

You have left off one very important piece of information: is it worth the trip out there? If no, then all your coordinates and directions are, well, kinda irrelevant.
