Do not think much has changed and some nights very quiet at the moment. Still think some of the better boys are found at the small bars and pool bars around the Paradise Complex rather than at the large go go bars. Superboys is still the sleaziest bar. I did off a boy from there and went round the corner for short time room at Minotel. The night receptionist was obviously gay. There rooms seemed very nice and I picked up some brochures for friends I know always look for cheap accomodation - now only bht500 per night. They have website and also on Asia Rooms.

Phuket

I was in Phuket one month ago (thanks to Nok Air ... sigh ...)
I loved the beer bars too, especially Dempseys which is a new place next door to Connect Bar.
I spoent a lot of time in Bi Ba Bo Restaurant & Bar located on the inside alley (parallel to Ratcha Uthit Road) ; the waiters are welcoming and at night they have very cute freeelancers gathering here. Moreover you have an unobstructed view over two other beer bars (J&B and Kay Boy).
As for accomodation, I think that Rendez-Vous Guesthouse can't be matched by any other place for cleanliness, convenience and cheap prices.
