I tried to do a site search, as I do not want to "pollute" these waters with a question that has already been asked and answered... but, alas, no luck, so here goes:
I am an American living now in Bangkok, and loving it... but it is time for me to have a little incognito get-away (way too many guys know me here in the City of Angels), and, of course Pattaya beckons yet again. Can any of you Pattaya experts recommend a place to stay? Nothing piss-elegant, and my tastes run more Sunee than Boystown... Would love a place with in-room internet, but it is NOT a deal breaker! Many thanks, and I promise a detail of my adventures will be posted to the board in return! Thanks... Richard (board newbie)

On my last visit to Pattaya (November 2008) I stayed at the Amari Nova Platinum. Nice hotel, reasonable prices - especially pay in advance at time of booking - and an easy walk to Sunee Plaza. The hotel has free wi-fi.
I stayed in a deluxe room which had a pool view and was very quiet. The other rooms over look the road so there might be some traffic noise there. I plan to stay there again in October when I visit again. Nova Platinum Hotel, Pattaya - Official Site. Quality Budget Hotel in South Pattaya
