is dusit thani extra guest friendly. i recall when i last used this hotel they have some info material in the room that says that there should be no overnight guest after 9pm or something like that. so did not bother to bring back boy and experience the hassle.

At Dusit Thani. Never made it to the Dragon show last night - was early so popped into Fresh Beach Boys and walked out an hour later with a fresh 19 y.o. cutie from Isaan (no alcohol, no cigarettes but smoked me like a pro). Didn't speak one word of English and started every sentence with his name (instead of "I") . Quaint !

I stay in the garden wing - rooms bigger and cheaper than the tower -( I dont get how they price them) and despite being clearly a young money boy with farang (mature but still cute for his age, lol ! ) neither door-man nor elevator security batted an eye-lid, let alone demanded any I.D. I've taken other guys back without problem, but last night was probably the most obvious, skin tight jeans and spikey hair.

You'd think that the Dusit Thani gets its fair share of such "couples", considering its location. But in general, security guards in Bangkok don't seem to be into questioning guests, unlike some rather inquisitive chaps in Phuket I remember.

I attended a meeting of hotel GM's in Pattaya last year. One 4 star hotel reckons over 70% of its guests have "joiners" and that if he tried to charge a fee he'd loose most of his clients. He did say they take ID's however, mainly for the security of the guests.

Great, I actually think taking IDs is a sensible thing to do. As long as it's done in a polite way, that would be fine with me.

A recent trip to Bangkok yielded the following impressions:

X-Size – There are many boys here but I will never return to this bar. They systematically rip off their own customers. I paid my bill with a 1000 baht note and noticed that the change was short by one hundred Baht. When challenged they revealed that the 100 baht was broken up in 20 baht notes, folded up, and tugged inside the pocket in the bill fold. Obviously they are hoping that you would not notice and just leave the 100 baht as extra tip, on top of whatever tip you have already decided to give. Other places also try to enhance tipping by providing part of the change in coins instead of bills, but what they did here is egregious and beyond the pale.

X-Boys – Entered when the show began at 10:30 pm. Like most places, the show was rather unimaginative with mostly lip sync performances by transvestites. There was a f--king show although there is nothing new here.

Tawan – There were more sumo wrestlers than body builders, mostly over 30 years of age. Some look to be over 35 and d some over 35 and quite unattractive, with only a couple of exceptions.

Banana massage – There were fewer than 10 boys and most of them are not interesting to me. Even though Banana has a reputation of having smaller, young gay boys, they didn’t look any different from boys in most other places. However, all the boys are gay and that is the distinguishing point. The very helpful Singaporean mamasen told me that the nearby Body Club is changing to a place with women doing the massage. I didn’t check this out myself however.

re Banana: no, I do not think this palce was ever specilaizing in smaller/femme boys-they always had to rely on those who found Hero to far to walk and the Singy's-they want beefcake. But the manager is quite Ok and informative and to laugh with
Re BC: for a short while their ads (now withdrawn) showed ''for men and women'' and that was it. there is a str8 karaOk/msg place right across from it anyway. But BC is going much downhill, not just for the filth.
But as always in BKK here: it can change by the week-what? byu the minute.

Only one visit to X-Size and you assume that there's a system in place to routinely cheat or short change customers? A lot of places put some 10B coins in the change folder, I like it. I like to pay taxis exact fair, rounded up to 10B, so they come in handy. I've been to X-Size a lot and have never been short changed. This in not to imply that you were not cheated.

Just last week I was in X-Size, there's a new group of perfumers. There were a lot of acts but not sure that was normal. There was one guy, farang in his 50's, sitting opposite me in the bar with 6 Thai ladies in tow. He sat in the middle of his entourage. He started tipping the performers 1000B each after each performance. That's why I think they put on more than usual. He must have spend over 40,000B. If these girls he had were from some bar, and he was paying for them, I can imagine what he ended up spending for the night.

I used to have a regular at the Banana Club but he left and I've not had good luck there since. The Singaporean manager is a very nice guy and tries to be as helpful as he can be he can't work magic. Like everyplace it's hit and miss. As for the comment on filth, I don't see it. It's as clean as the rest. A little worn but clean. Hero is very worn but I would not use the word filth for them either.

As of this evening, Body Club is completely unchanged. It could be that changes are in the works, or it could be the at Singaporean guy is spreading porkies about a competitor.

I was NOT referring to that club- I meant BC=body club. On my last visit (and i do hope for all that it has since been cleaned up) I found the filth so stark (IN the rooms-the curtains in the shower were thick black dirt-cake from halfway down), the smell in that room and the feel of the sheets/cover on the bed made me decide-even though I had a long-standing regular good guy serving, that this would be the last time for me.
I think I also explained what may have caused this remark-an ad in the BKKPost telling ''for men and women''. is no more.

I've reported before about the notes hidden under the flap at X size.

I also like the coins, and yes they go straight in my pocket, for taxi change, I either leave a 20 Baht tip (note) or no tip at go go venues.

So it does seem that hidding notes under the flap in the bill fold is common practice at X-Size. It may work well for them as many customers don't always count their change. I think it's dishonest.

Does this practice alway take place at other go-go bars?
