I second Sextile's opinion: Dream Boy and Boys Bangkok (they are related bars) are the only ones drawing good crowds - at least in the second half of September. However, this has been attributed to holidays in China, Korea, Hong Kong and Japan. Whether or not the traffic will continue to be as good through the high season, starting this month, is still an open question.

The former Future Boys is still shut tight. However I heard that the lease has been sold for 5 million baht! What my informant was not 100 percent sure about (he merely assumed so) was whether it would reopen as a gogo bar or or another kind of business, or when. Certainly, no re-construction work was in progress.

Back in Bangkok after a couple of months absence, checked out Dreamboys Thursday night - large team of boys as usual and mostly very hot specimens at that. Has a good show and an especially athletic f..k sequence. Bar was busy and they actually made an announcement about not smoking on the premises and no one did.

Checked out X-Size last night looking for my favourite (number 9), but no longer works there. Despite the same old Star Wars introductory music, bar features an all new show including a fire act which had me planning a quick exit should things go awry. Nice array of boys, with the well hung specimens later seen in sex show but didn't wait to see if there was actually any f..k act. Busy bar.

Then checked out Jupiters which continues to be a twink free zone but has some of the better looking male specimens seen in any Bangkok venue. Recognised a few models from previous visits. All the models are well hung. Pity that most are tops with attitude. Bar was packed (as it always is when I come) with very poor viewing arrangements. No f..k acts and same old tired "tease" show introduced by same old batman theme music. Bar is popular with the ladies.

I had the same positive impression of Dream Boy when I was there a few weeks ago: plenty of boys, a majority with attractive physiques. The show however was tired and could do with changes.

I liked the fire-eating act at X-size. I even tipped the guy. I know that might only encourage more risk-taking behaviour As for the fuck act, you didn't miss a thing. It was ho-hum, and barely a minute after they began on stage, they went among the audience in search of tips for the pleasure of bonking four strokes on your lap.

Re Jupiter, what percentage of the audience were female?

Any sign of a new bar where Future Boys used to be?

Difficult to say. Maybe 10% - I just remember thinking that there were more females than I had seen in any other bar.

As to Future Boys, I haven't made it that far up the soi yet ;-)
