I have never tried Fan Club, or Game unfortunately. While I like Game a lot, Fan Club is not really my scene. I prefer the hit-and-miss massage places on the edge of town.

I note your interesting comment "I prefer the hit-and-miss massage places on the edge of town". I agree, venues around Silom are, IMHO, mostly tourist traps and seem to attract a particular type of attitude in their workers, and not my scene (each to his own).

I can speak pretty good Thai and I enjoy the conversations with the working guys "on the edge of town" as you call it. You just don't get the same converstaions on the Silom stretch (each to his own).

I also go to the gay venues at Ramkamhaeng, Rachada, etc., fairly often, and again I enjoy the down to earth daily life conversations.

In any event I might just give 'the new Fan club' and Khun Game a try, and I'll share some quick comments.

I took up the Fan Club offer of a free oil or cream massage today. Arrived there at about 4pm, it didn't appear busy. Most of the boys were on the computers but immediately reacted when I arrived, taking off shirts and putting on smiles, there were about 15 available. The manager was pleasant with good English. He explained that the minimum tip was 500 baht but more would be expected if there was sex.

Then the bit I hate, when they all smile at you......if only I was rich I could please them all and have a 30 hand massage I scanned quickly and choose a smallish guy with a nice slim body and good shoulders. His English was satisfactory, evidently he is at university here but hails from Chiang Mai.

He disappeared to prepare the oil and then returned to escort me up to the room. The room, like the rest of the place was fairly stark but clean looking, it had an ensuite shower. I disrobed and he went off to the toilet but returned quickly and joined me in the shower. He gave me a very thorough soaping.

The massage was on a double bed. I am no expert in massage but I was impressed with his skills especially when he used his forearms on my back........heaven. On turning over he massaged up my legs and eventually we proceeded to the fun part....and fun it was. He was a very sweet, compliant guy.

Afterwards he soaped and showered me again, gave me his card and escorted me back downstairs.

Despite the renovations I read about on here, you could certainly not describe it as a luxurious establishment. Some of the areas look quite untidy.

Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
