i had clothes custom made - but it was getting to be an expensive affair. the pants costs me 3k, work shirts 2.5k. after some haggling here and there total cost was 11k for 3 shirts and 2 pants. i am happy with the workmanship and there does not seem to be any shine after a few ironing of the pants. so i guess the material used was not polyester.
by the way, can anyone help how i can reach central pinklao from silom? found something in the thaivisa site. i tried to google another location Ramkhamhaeng junction ( Phetchburi intersection, almost adjacent to Nasa Vegas ) but can't find where this intersection is.

Central Pinklao can be reached door-to-door by one bus ride by taking bus 177 going west on Silom. Or you can catch bus 507 going north on Rama 4 at the stop just round the corner from Silom past ex-Robinsons. Or on bus 149 going west on Sathorn.
The junction near Nsa Vegas is easily reachable by taking SRT's airport link train from BTS Phaya Thai and getting off at Ramkhamhaeng station (Bht15 + BTS fare from Silom..Bht25).

Or by bus: go to Ram IV/Silom side and wait for AC-bus 507 (haa-soon-jet), this will pass the Hualampong train station, Chinatown (always good for enormous jams(, the sanam LUang (being fenced off for renovation), the Pinkla0 bridge, then PATA (another deptmt.store)< then another crossing, where they are building pillars for skytrain, then after a tesco and then the Centran. This route ends at the Sai Thai bus terminal further on. 2.this is now right next to ARL-stop of same name, thus the BTS-change at Phiyathai . The rails run between the 2 towers of that HTL. By bus: on Silom, the 115,white=NO AC, this will go along RamIV-then Ekamai (jams a lot!) and then follow RKHaeng all the way. Note that the crossing Phetburi Rd/RKHaeng there is NOT named RKHaeng-it is Klong San. I cannot recall which junction is named RKHaeng itself. Also: the newish white METROBus (17?) along Silom takes same route-seats only and AC, fewer stops, so maybe 2 mins quicker, cost is 30 bt-payable on entry in exact money into a box.

-- How about MBK. - BTS. Siam or Nat'l. Stadium?
- While I do not shop there for my own clothes yet I find it quite adequate enough for my students who need hard-wearing clothes; - At the risk of being commerical may I recommend: 1.- Shirts - Khun Tuk, 3rd. floor, stall #M60., soi 4.; - cell.: (081)-452 9442.; - speaks adequate enough English to sell! 2. - Trousers - Dragon, 3rd. fl., stall #M51.; - cell.: (085)-226 8942.. -- There is also a shop in CP.TOWER*, GF. by escalators, that caters to the larger male. -* Si Lom rd., roughly opp. to BKK. XTN. HOSP'L.. -- Usual disclaimers, of course
