April 6

Brunched at Dick's, and then took a long walk along the beach. Unfortunately, no eye candy to report.

Relaxed by the pool at the Venue, then went for a nice massage at Duo House.

Met up with a friend for dinner at Le Cafe Royale.

The goal of the evening was to make the rounds of the Boys Town area.

X Boys
Started here for the 10pm show. Not bad. The B-Boy performance was superb....outsourced, not regular staff.

Splash Boys
Not much to report here...only 5 boys on my visit.

Funny Boys
Always have liked the relaxed atmosphere here...although the mamasan tends to order the staff around a lot...don't like that. It always takes me a long time to decide. When I finally did, my choice was taken by another.

Toy Boys
Popped in here at bout 1am...still open but few boys.

Back to Jomtien

Stopped by Spilia Karaoke. Quite energetic with mostly Ganymede staff. One guy latched onto me and was cute, so he ended up with me last night.

Quick scoot around Boystown last night. David had about a dozen boys, leaning towards rougher diamonds - straight from the Issan rice paddies. Funny Boys good selection of smooth twinks, but my current pick would be Toy Boys. About 15 boys still at midnight - lots of approaches, good humoured fun and banter and some very tasty morcels to pick from.

Actually kept one overnight for 2nds in the morning

Pattaya decline

first visit back to Pattaya in nearly 4 years. Most noticed incredible building spree and the mass Russian invasion. Certainly, the Thais I spoke to have problems with Russian "manners". My partner and I felt that Boystown and Sunee were both a shadow of former self. Sunee especially, looked really down. Is it me or were things much better in the days of Charlies cafe etc. Now, it feels hemmed in by the Arab and sub-continent streets. The whole show of gay Pattaya is declining. Not many over 40 yrs to make it thrive.

Watching the BBC this weekend you'd think BKK/ Pattaya were being pounded by thunderstorms. Actually it hasn't really rained at all and quite pleasant on the beach this weekend (a bit windy today)

In Sunni last night at a small bar of ill repute, a bright spotlight suddenly came on , and within 10 seconds the doz or so "guys" were reduced to 1 ! Seems it was a false alarm but I moved on to Happy, about 8 boys, 50% new, but not in the mood so back to Boystown . Vassa was clean out of boys, literally all offed by 10 pm. Lucky Seven well stocked with lots of new faces. Offed a likely lad - for mutual happy endings.

Thailand in August

My partner and I have a totally open relationship.

I've been to Pattaya once, 5 years ago, in November, 2007... but I went without him... ( with his 'blessing' )

I've always wanted to go back, and take him with me.

Back in 2007, I had 10 days. I spent 6 in Pattaya, then 4 in Bangkok. Although I had fun in Bangkok too, I really had lots more fun in Pattaya.

The web sites for the clubs never tell much, so I'm replying on you guys to tell me the 'straight scoop'... Is Pattaya as much fun as it was in 2007...?

I also wonder, how bad is it to go during the low season? Is it going to be like a ghost town? Will we go to go go clubs and there won't be any boys?

Also, he wants to be very pampered... So we're thinking of booking the best room at a 5-star hotel... the Hilton Pattaya. Any thoughts on that?

Last time I stayed at Le Cafe Royale.... which very very convenient to the boys. Should we get a room there also.... just for fun and convenience....? Then, just bring back the hottest guys to the Hilton...? Or what if we just had a car or limo standing by... to take us all back to the Hilton...? Which makes more sense logistically?

Has Pattaya declined since 2007...?

How many fewer boys are there in August compared to November...?

May is traditionally the quietest month in Pattaya, and there were still more than enough guys to go around. Its really a year round resort so I'd just plan to visit when it suits you.

Hilton is pretty hip at the moment and nice rooftop pool etc - never stayed there but would have great views and right on top of new Central Festival shopping mall.I wouldnt double book at Cafe Royal - they or Ambience should always have rooms if you feel the need, but Hilton worldwide is very gay friendly.

I think Pattaya still better than BKK and as well as the host bars there's thai style discos (like The Dave Man club) that go until the early hours and have great coyote dancers.

Have fun!!

Pattaya good right now

I have just spent 9 days in Pattaya and have been to all the bars in Boystown – it takes about 9 days to do all the bars....

I found the quality of the go-go boys varied a lot with Copa and X-boys having the best and Boys, Boys, Boys and A-bomb the worst. At least the go-go bar prices at an average of 180 baht are not as steep as in Bangkok, and the cabaret shows are a lot better, especially Copa and Boys, Boys, Boys. There is a good sex show at X-boys.

Despite it being the low season, there was moderate attendance at the bars, but thankfully Pattaya on the whole was less crowded. Offed a few boys with a 50:50 success rate, and a tip of 1500 baht for a good time and 500 baht for a flop seemed appreciated – again a lot less than what is expected in Bangkok.

I also had a couple of very satisfactory massages at Boys, Boys, Boys Massage. No minimum tips expected here.

However, forget the bars and the whole scene at Sunee which has become really rundown with few patrons. Crazy Dragon was empty, no wonder with a ‘for sale’ sign on the door. A couple of other bars seemed permanently shut. The only thriving bars are the ones with the boys of borderline age being slobbered over by drooling, overweight and ugly farangs.

Dongtan beach in Jomtien was not crowded with visitors and was therefore a better experience than usual – and also plenty of local eye candy vying for attention. Every day was sunny and warm, with brief tropical downpours confined to the evenings.

I always stay at Dusit D2 which is moderately priced, has excellent food, is very gay friendly (no fee for taking 'guests' to your room) and close to Boystown. Check Tripadvisor where Dusit D2 ranks 4th.

Hmmmm ... some of us are still "slim & georgeous" so I'll let that comment through to the keeper. Anyway Euro boys tried to re-open last night - unfortunately the only thing missing was the boys - they had none !

Nevertheless there are always diamonds in the rough in Sunnee, and last night I came up trumps at one of the beer bars where I met a stunningly handsome 25 y.o. Laos guy with film star looks, perfectly formed body and film star teeth and smile - as an added bonus he and was a great kisser and turned out to be a hungry, horny bottom who loved to be screwed mercilessly. As Mr Sexytile would say - "it's a crap shoot" .... so roll the dice !

Actually lightening can strike twice --- last night on GR met another stunner from Laos - 22, cute as apple pie, beautiful, smooth as silk body without the usual tats, horrific motorbike scars or other deformities - great kisser and hungry ass - Luv Pattaya !

- Caesar may well have quoted from his favorite & Gk. playwrite: 'Anerriphtho kybos.' before crossing the Rubicon; but, surely for you, this is not the time to be writing: 'Rien ne va plus.'?
- Roll the dice again and just go with your luck.
