Basically the ‘bar’ is his downstairs area so it is quite rough and ready but he guys who work from there are really nice local guys. As you come down the drive they will tend to sit around in the dark and as you make your way down (use a led light or something) they turn the lights on and suddenly you’ll be at a table with 2 or 3 drinking whatever, listening to Isaan music and having a great time. You’ll need to be able to speak a bit of Thai then again that has never held me back… Mother told me never to speak with my mouth full anyway… We would always go back to my ‘dive’ the old Tokyo Hotel not far from there. There are two Tokyo hotels and mine was the 300 baht a night one!! Aircon like a 747 but good bed. Check out the map. My bits are in blue pointing out my dive, BB’s and the famous Yo Ma who defeated the Lao army by getting them pissed, included for your reference. Have fun…
