Overnight I received an email from a friend whom I had encouraged to visit the "upgraded" Golden Cock.

In summary, he's a top. The bar could offer only one boy alleged versatile. The rest were all tops. However he was rather taken with a boy from Laos. The manager persuaded him that a threesome would be a great idea. Each boy 600 baht "off" fee but that included the room upstairs, otherwise 400 baht.

Conclusion about the room: Don't bother. Walk down the road to the short-time rooms at the Suriwong Hotel.

The boys' performance: Don't bother. Not a threesome, the "versatile" boy wouldn't bottom, no kissing, no sucking, no fucking, just chuck-wow.

Overall: Don't bother. There was a customer and his boy smoking in a tiny bar. My friend is not a No Smoking Nazi so didn't object and nor did he leave, but it was the icing on an overall Don't Bother cake.

He made his feelings clear to the manager as he left.

I was at GC about 3 weeks ago. There were 2 Thai customers who had opened a bottle and about 5 boys, 2 of them actually dancing on the stage to Karaoke music. All of them in a very good mood. Knowing the Msan for several years I took a seat and invited him for a drink (140B). He told me that he had been running the GC for 2 months now and complained about the lack of customers but did NOT try to push me to take a boy though he recogn. that I could not take my eyes off one of the dancers. 21y from Pak Xe and working at GC for a few weeks. He had worked at NB for 2 weeks but left bec. he could not stand the "nature" of this bar. It did not take a long time and he was sitting next to me. A very nice and tender boy. After a long trip and just arrived at BKK I was tired and left without the boy. At my hotel I regretted not to have offed him......a quick call to the Msan and 15min later the boy arrived. Of c. I went to GC again next day and offed him another time , this time overnight and had again one of the best "experiences" ever. If his Engl and my Thai were not just "nit noi" I would take him for a few day s trip. I think the boys ask for 1200 ST and 2000 ON. Drinks 140B. Boys and Msan are friendly and polite, not pushy at all.

Thanks for that report. I think the last time I set foot in Golden Cock, and actually sat down and had a drink, was back in the late 1990s! So, maybe it's time for a return visit. I'm amazed the bar has stayed open all these years, so maybe they indeed do have something worthwhile on offer.

Agree with your comments about the "old" GC. I was fairly sceptical as well, but its new management, new boys and new attitude. Worth a shot! - but up-stairs rooms as bad as ever :(

First ever visit to Golden Cock (and also Super A--can't remember the name but it's around the corner and I think had an "A" in the name).
Arrived around 10:30pm Wednesday night. A few smiling boys sitting outside GC. Was with my US friend. We went inside, all of the boys rushed over to stand in front of us; we each chose one. Friend took a bigger guy, thick/meaty guy who said he'd only been there a few weeks. I took Kh Pan, who said he's been there a while. While my friend was only just OK with his guy, Kh Pan was friendly, touched me a lot all over, kissed me, and was rubbing me through my pants. He also took out his dick (small, like 5-6 inches but that doesn't bother me) and played with it, putting my hand on it and keeping it there for a good 20 minutes.
Drinks were 140 baht, had a good time, would return. No pressure to take a boy, I wasn't exactly clear about prices for upstairs rooms, I heard 200/400 etc....
A bigger surprise was when we left the ladyboy/feminine guy from Super A was at the corner, promising drinks for 100 Baht (!) so we said, why not.... went inside, the guys were definitely not as interested in our arrival as they were at Golden Cock, most just stayed on their phones, except one stocky, built tattooed dark skinned guy that my friend played with for a few minutes, while I took Khun Bo, a very slim guy with lots of what he described as "Buddhist Tattoos". Anyway he eventually got hard and had pretty much the same dick as Kh. Pan from GC, but Kh Pan was much more into making me feel good. :D I'd go back to both, it's a fun way to see/touch some dick, considering that Soi Twilight shows, at double the price, isn't even showing much in terms of sex shows.
Actually, Dream Boys (where I was taken Monday night) was QUADRUPLE the price of Super A! :P

Yeah, the current crew at Super A are a bit on the lethargic side! I venture over there every 2 or 3 months, but it's always about the same: not much going on. I much preferred their old upstairs location; better layout and sight lines of the stage (for what that's worth!) and more room to "sample" the merchandise. But hey, at least the price of their drinks is still very reasonable

Does anyone know-for Super A!!- if that old standby of TOP is still working there? He comes from Nakorn Phanom and is 1/2 Vnese/Thai.

He was not there a few weeks ago when I stopped in. They told me he was no longer working there.
