Golden Cock upgraded
 

Paid a visit to Golden Cock the other day - my first in a few years. Looks like they are in the process of upgrading the place. New sofas and new boys. Was services by three competent young men upstairs.

Two guys that used to work there - one went to NB one to Super A that I still had back to my apartment together said a new manager was taking over. They were going back and said would have 8 - 10 boys working there. Got an SMS two days ago to say they were back there. So as per Hot Viking sounds like worth trying again. The upstairs rooms used to be quite adequate and they open around 2 - 3pm in the afternoon.

What does that mean, exactly?

Upstairs rooms are quite large, have mattress on floor and are clean - the shower room was good size, clean with shower gel and soap. Clean towels. Bht200 to have room and bht200 to take boy off to room. Drinks bht140. They now are more like nature boy downstairs - sucking etc. There were 7 boys there last night and they locked the door so had more privacy downstairs

Been there yesterday after a very short visit to NB where there were only 3 boys, of which two were really unattractive. Maybe bad time.
In GC, more boys and attractive, and our famous tattoed friend.:)
I was told new owner and open fom 2 PM.

So our tatooed friend has moved to GC?

yes, it looks like there was a change recently in both bars, and our friend is in GC, in top form !

So a few of the other boys from NB have also shifted to GC I presume?

I visited Nature Boy late Monday having arrived in Bangkok very early that morning.
Only four boys in the bar.
The former management has indeed departed and the establishment is being run by the brothers Khun A and Khun O who until recently were part of the entertainment and may still be and their brother Khun M who retired from bar duties some years ago and is carrying several extra kilos.
I tried and failed to ascertain if they were the mamasans or if this was their bar. I failed and will need to investigate this further.

I visited GC this afternoon to investigate developments in this establishment.
A former member of NB staff informed me that he was in charge and I lated ascertained he was still dancing but was more or less the mamasan.
About 10 boys in attendance. I recognised a' no English former army boy' from NB and questioned if a number of NB boys came across with the mamasan.
I was informed that the army boy in attendance did and afternoon shift at GC and moved to NB for the evening shift.
I recognised no other boys as graduates of NB bar. I inquired about our friend with the tatoo/long hair now short hair and was told that he is definitely still at NB. I was going to check tonight but was too lazy.
I was asked to admire the renovations which frankly in the gloom were difficult to notice.
Prior to departure I was encouraged to return as the entertainment was definitely taking a NB theme.

Excellent reports QueenOfTawan. Do you mean that the NB-ish activities occur only after sundown, or there's moaning in the gloaming from the moment the doors open in the afternoon? I'll be back in Bangkok at the beginning of May so look forward to visiting Golden Cock again.

Just an update on GC and NB. I spent the last two weekends in Pattaya and have been somewhat tardy in responding and why I am spending this Songkran weekend in Bangkok is a little beyond me.

I visited the establishments in question and can report:
1. Our tatooed long haired now short haired friend is still at NB doing what he does best.
2. No clearer on whether the alphabet brothers are managers or mamasans.
3. I went to the GC about midafternoon to see what entertainment was available. The NB graduate who is both mamasan and boy was coming later. I chose 2 boys to sit with me, a rather tall new boy in skin tight jeans and a boy from Laos in a soccer outfit. Tall and tight was keen to go upstairs, soccer boy had no such inhibitions and soon had the shirt off and the equipment out, standing erect and ready for inspection.
4. On departure of GC I wandered around the corner to I think what is called Nice Boys, below the former Super A. Their couches are past death and are now in a state of advanced decay and I delicately took my time trying to identify the least decayed to sit on.
Anyway a guy from Myanmar who is a recent graduate from NB kept up a constant patter about the changes in the bar. In summary and I quote" Now same same as NB you can play in the bar only Baht 600 for the bar and Baht 1000 for the boy". Instead I chose to off a new boy, tall, dark, tight jeans whose performance may do our tatooed long hair now short hair NB friend out his pre-eminent position in certain oral activities.

Great news Queen of Tawan. I'll be in Bangkok in late May so shall definitely stop by
