Briefly now,

1) Royal Orchid Sheraton - mixed feedbacks on overnight guests; far from BTS stations because of its riverside area location; but the accomodations are great! You can get a room here for a low as US$94 per night at http://www.accomline.com

2) Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza - mixed reviews on overnight guests; relatively near to a BTS staion; rooms here can be had at US$60 per night incl. bfast.

3) Monarch Lee Gardens - mixed reviews on overnight guests but it seems to be the most tolerant among the four; relatively near to a BTS station; it's also the cheapest among the four where rooms can go for a low as US$50 per night incl bfast.

4) Amari Watergate - mixed reviews on overnight guests but their gym is cruisy; front desk staff tends to look down at Thai off-boys; relatively inconvenient for walking if proximity to a BTS station is a priority; good accomodations, though, with rooms going for as low as US$65 per night incl bfast.

Yorkie, if budget is an issue, then try these other hotels which are comparatively more gay-friendly:

On Sukhumvit: Amari Boulevard, Novotel Lotus, and as you earlier posted, Landmark Hotel (renovations notwithstanding) because rooms here are currently valued between US$40-50 per night incl. bfast.

On Silom: Try the serviced residences and I'm sure you won't have a problem here. Always toppping my list is SalaDang Place http://www.saladangplace.com where studios can be booked at less than US$40 per night incl bfast or Saladaeng Colonnade http://www.andrewpark.com which is a little more pricey at US$65 per night incl bfast. These two are so convenient to both BTS stations and the gay nightlife of Bangkok.

Good luck to your search! Tell your secretary that she can do better than offer you these selections.

I agree with golfnut.
I have just returned from BKK. I stayed at the Tower Inn on Silom Road. Book a double room (by internet it is Bt1500 which includes a buffet breakfast for two). You can always tell your secretary that you want a double room as it is only Bt200 more than a single, a better size room, a decent sized bed, etc. Nothing will appear during her booking that will mention the word(s) gay or gay-friendly. I have never had any problems bringing back a friend (or friends).

Doggone it...I booked at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza thinking I could get an overnight guest in...What about the Swiss Lodge guys? Any help wuld be appreciated.

Swiss Lodge is a better alternative to Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza because it's 100% certified gay-friendly. Accomodations are more than acceptable. They don't have a gym, though. But the new California Fitness Center is just around the corner so keeping yourself fit while there won't be a hassle. The best thing about Swiss Lodge is its location! The gay nightlife is less than 100 meters away by foot, while excellent restaurants line up the street where it is located (Soi Convent).

I agree that Swiss Lodge is in a good location, and it's interesting to hear that they don't have problems with gay overnight guests..... my best friend, a straight guy, brought his Thai girlfriend, NOT a hooker, back to the Swiss Lodge and was given the third degree. They treated her so badly, he's never going back there. This was a year ago, I think.
Maybe this is a good thing, though--they only discriminate against straight couples--us homos get preferential treatment! Finally.

Still, I think there are better choices.

There are really better choices than Swiss Lodge in the Silom/Surawong area. In fact, my earlier posts to this message did not even include this property among my recommendations. I may sound like a broken record here, but Saladang Place and Saladaeng Colonnade are far better options. In my next trip to Bangkok, which is next month, I have booked a studio with balcony at Saladang Place once more. At THB 2,100 nett per night incl. bfast, it may not be the best bargain I can haggle for, but the big space (80 sq.m.) and breezy balcony (complete with a gazebo-like structure) are most welcome.

I have always liked my stays with the SALA DANG Place. No problems, next to the action and Sky train, no problems with guests or parties. They have a pool, gym and a small sauna.

I've just come back from staying at La Residence on Suriwong, close to all the action and very gay friendly.
Make sure you book a double room though.
Rates are reasonable, the rooms are beautiful.
Boys must leave their ID cards at reception, but I think this is a plus.
Thoroughly reccomended

I would also recommend La Residence. I have stayed there three times and provided a double room is booked, had no problems. It seems the checking of ID cards is fairly new as this wasn't the case in my time. I stopped using this place as I found it too quite - no 24hr coffee shop, etc., but it was very good value and hassle free.

Well, I can propose the Tower Inn as well (Silom Road) or the Chatra Court Appartements (Sukhumvit Soi 15-19) - a very nice place to stay - both very gay-friendly places - but not commonly known as gay places.
