According to postings on Palm Plaza (a Thai language chat site -- don't bother if you don't read Thai Palm Plaza) the Falcon Sauna on Rama IX Soi 49 has reopened. Apparently, it's all nude and has FREE admission before 7:00 p.m., 69 baht afterwards.
The postings seem to indicate that the cheap prices and hot nude action has been drawing a pretty good crowd of young 'uns from nearby Ramkhamhamg and ABAC Universities. Might be worth a visit! [ March 01, 2002: Message edited by: icon513 ] |

It is exactly just inside Rama IX Soi 49, in a small sub-soi on the right. There is a sign and it is easy to find.
Very far away from Silom, and nowhere near any skytrain station. This one is not on the tourist circuit. |

After Hercules, it's probably the most difficult sauna to find, but used to be rewarding in the early days as Uomo(I met two first-time massage boys from Ramkhamhaeng Uni there...when it used to offer massage). You could simply take a taxi and ask for Rama IX road, soi 49, #551. But you'd probably be nearly broke by the time you got there and wouldn't have a clue where you were.
My advice is to take Micro bus 17 from Silom, going east(pay Bht25 into machine upon entry) and sit back and relax till you get to Ramkhamhaeng Road...get off just after you pass the huge Hua Mark stadium on the right. Just after(going away from Bangkok) the stadium(can cruise there late if you can't find anything Falcon)there is Hua Mark Police Station...just after there on the right, is a long, through soi(maybe 26)and this is the other end of Rama IX soi 49. Take a motor cycle taxi from here and ask for Rama IX(pronounced: Param Kow)and just before you get to Rama IX, up a sub soi, you will see signs for Falcon..maybe..before Uomo was well sign-posted. |

Actually, the normal train goes very close to the sauna on it's way to Pattaya and the east. From Hua Lhamphung station(Rama IV)it's only 31 minutes to Hua Mark station and then it's walking distance to Falcon. Suitable trains leave Hua Lhamphung at 15:05 and 17:25 and arrive when they feel like it, but should be 15:36 and 17:54 respectively. Last return train leaves Hua Mark at 18:43...but beware, trains only leave Hua Lhampung on time...they are usually late at all destinations.

Take the BTS to Ekkamai or Phra Kanong. A taxi from either station to Falcon will cost about 80 to 100 baht. If you get a taxi at Ekkamai, it's best to cross over Soi Ekkamai (Soi 63) and walk a little way down the soi, otherwise you may end up going down Sukhimvit and getting caught in the traffic.

As usual, Midas is spot on with his directions...yes, that's surely the best and cheapest way...BTS to Phra Kanong then taxi, as that soi runs directly to Rama IX...
Anyone want to try the klong boat from WTC to FBT then a motor cycle? There's more than one way to skin a cat...that's the way I did it once. |

Dozens of naked students?
Well, no. Would you settle for one dozen? That's what I found last night (Sunday) at around 8:00. True to the publicity, they let customers in FREE between 5:00 and 7:00; after that, it's only 69 baht. What a deal! Unfortunately, the facilities are pretty lousy. Unattractive (mostly bare concrete) and uncomfortable. The good news is that a large portion of the place (including the area where the steam, sauna, "grotto" pool, showers, private rooms, and naughty video room are) have been designated "towel free" -- and there is plenty of light to see the goods on display (for a change). With a few more people, it could be worth the trip out from downtown. As it is now, though, I'd say it's not really worth it. |

Don't you think this sauna is located in a very local area ? ( a remote ? ) When I consider the location , this sauna might cater mostly for nearby Ramkhamhaen uni students . ( they don't target tourists obviously ) Also when you consider the free admission before 7PM and only B69 afterward , it's quite affordable to uni students .
I really want to find out what's going on there , but when I consider my age , I am afraid that I wouldn't fit that young crowd . Say , if you guys go there , that's OK , but please behave yourself . Remember this is a uni students'living area . Don't act too agrressively , please . Don't scare them away . I don't want to see DOZENS of naked old farang with a just a dozen of uni students there , anyway . |

Don't worry...I was far from the youngest, ugliest, fattest, or most aggressive person there (and I was the only farang). Students enjoy a varied diet too, you know!
Actually, only a few looked like they might be students. There were several Thai guys in their thirties among the crowd. |

Ninja's two posts (see also Japan thread) seem to suggest cruising should be compartmented to inflexible stereotypes.I know my desired type changes constantly.Has he considered there maybe fat, average looking students at this venue who may like a middle aged, slim farang or vice verce. All smacks of a master race mentality to me.I think we did away with that after WW2.Here's to free trade!
