And don't rule out that the captain you negotiated the deal will very likely be expecting his 'commission' too.

And keep in mind that the captain who 'negotiated' the deal will likely be expecting his commission from the proceeds.

Since I believe we're more on the topic of Tawan and bangkok bars with big boys, I've placed my response in the "Bar Reports - BKK" thread. See permalink.

General update on Pattaya. Bars close, bars open.. it's a constantly changing scene.. which is part of the fun of pattaya. generally absolultely spoiled for choice of good looking 20 something guys in the Boystown area (start with drinks at Panorama and let your eyes do the walking.) Massage boys in Botystown looking very ripe and tasty now, and really nice boys in Funny Poys and Toy Boys. Wild West has gone down hill with most of the boys looking past their use by date, and I have not changed my opinion on A-Bomb. .. pushy mamasan is an A-hole and the boys all mainly very "puuchai" If you're the type who wants to get ramed its probably your scene. Sunnee getting lots of Police attention and some new bars opening with 20 + boys.

Vassa (Boy'sTown) has closed and Cat's Place is the new Rock Hard with an intimate back room and fun boys who approach. Happy bar still a happy place but very few boys on the beach at the moment. Weather is great (what wet season?) life is inexpensive and 1,000 bt is accepted with a smile for overnight. Sanook maak

Hi,
What do you mean by very "puuchai" ?
I come in Pattaya next month and I'm a bottom. So this bar A-Bomb might be interesting.

Thanks,
Lionel

Good place to stay?

I will be returning to Thailand on 3rd October and will take my Thai BF to Pattaya for 3 nights. Can anyone advise a good place to stay? I like gay friendly places and am prepared to spend around 5000 baht per night. As we are into group sex, the hotel will need to be OK with us bringing 1 or 2 barboys back for the night.

Well with a 5,000 bt budget, and occupancy still around 30 - 40 % you should have your pick of the 5 star resort hotels. Royal Cliff (Terraces) is a good bet (has many entrances, great pools, views etc) or the Sheraton resort. You can access all the lodges from the car park and I have taken boys there without problem before. You'll have to take a baht bus or motocycle taxis but they're both mid way betwen Pattaya (night life) and Jomtien (beach) so good locations.

Thanks for the help everyone. I thought maybe "Rabbit" - but maybe it is too family oriented - although seems quite close to the gay beach. Also, what about "Dusit D2 Baraquda" - looks new, trendy and close to Boyztown? Sansuk looks isolated although I liked promotional video - seems a lot like Babylon in Bangkok and that is a plus as far as I am concerned.

Rabbit's management and staff are very gay-friendly and it's a comfortable well-run place. They've received good mainstream press and attract clients well outside the gay community. That hasn't changed their welcome at all, but does make for a few more Babushkas and Hausfraus bobbing in the pool than one might expect given the location. Haven't stayed since the renovations to the pool area, but originally the children's pools and adult pools were separate and a small distance apart (and both were quite nice).

Rooms in Rabbit are beautiful, very Thai, and access very easy. No problem for boys. A bit cheaper with bigger pool but large motel style rooms is Avalon. Also right on the gay beach but closer to the Police box for baht bus.

Well I ended up staying at Dusit D2 Baraquda and I was not disappointed. Great 5 star hotel at special 3200 baht per night deal, and very gay friendly. Located diagonally across from Marriott and therefore only 3 short blocks to Boyztown. Also checked out Rabbit at Dongtan beach and while resort looks nice (and quiet) the beach was completely covered by umbrellas over deckchairs for hire. Not an inch of spare sand. Ugh - how ugly. I think Pattaya is a better location. The beaches in both locations are not inviting, so don't go there for a beach holiday! Also enjoyed the bars, especially Funny Boys where I offed a fabulous model (#3?) who has a tatoo of a bird on his right shoulder. But, despite the mamasan's assurance, the guy was not a willing bottom. Anyway, he spent the night with me and my boyfriend and we had a great time. I have fond memories of a sandwich configuration....

I think the bar with the best show is Copa's with an underwater show (similar to Classic Boys in BKK), lots of singing and good dancers, very funny ladyboys, etc. Only 10 models though which must be the least of any Pattaya bar. Did not see any sex shows at any of the bars and the models tend to stay frozen on stage far too long. They need to rotate or do something. However, I must say that all the bars are run better than those in Bangkok. The Pattaya bars are cleaner, have comfortable seating (often sofas), the sound is not ear splitting, the service is more professional, the drinks cheaper (average 150 baht versus 250 baht), and the touts not as aggressive.

An interesting bar, not in Boyztown, is Carters (or Cartiers?). Very macho, but quite deserted probably because of its location. Offed a well endowed guy there (the one that does the shower show) - he said he was not gay and then proceeded to engage like a trouper. I think he misunderstood, equating "gay" with effeminate which clearly he was not.

Also tried a massage at the Ambience hotel (actually, the "shop" was next to the hotel which they use for delivering the services. Nice little hotel I think. Very clean and newish looking inside. Massage was 7/10 and afters completely tame and expensive (1300 baht tip quoted for what turned out to be poorly administered oral).

Hi Sexy Tile...and what did you do in the hotel...just read books and watch TV? Sunee is certainly refreshing. The boys are quite fres. One thing I have noticed on Gay Romeo a lot recently is that very few of the oodles of boys that post from the Pattaya/Chonburi region, claim to be working in bars or other sexy outlets. Can they make a living from Gay Romeo only as they claim to have no other type of job...I guess it depends what they look like of course.
