Today, here in BKK., is the 1st. day of Songkran, wch. this yr. will last until next tuesday, 17th. - although, possibly by that time, even the most determined merry-makers and party-goers will have had enough?
The Comfort Rooms in Silom Complex Shopping Plaza have been occupied by mostly young people washing-off the watered-down talcum- powder from their faces and cleaning themselves up in gen'l. in prep'n. for more water-fights and so on.
At approx. 19hrs. this evening the Rama IV. end of Si Lom rd. had been more or less taken-over by the walking revellers - seldom seen so many bits & pieces of eye-candy walking abroad: their wet tee-shirts and shorts can be quite eye-catching!
For those wishing to avoid too much of the water along Si Lom rd. it's better to walk on the non-Phat Pong side of that rd.. I saw that Phat Pong I's. night mkt. was CLOSED - no stalls set-out; not too many road-side stalls in Si Lom or S'wong. rds. either.
People gen'lly. good natured about the whole thing - it does NOT pay to get up-tight.
