Heres me two cents...
The main thing is lots of lube. Especialy when youre first trying it. I like using a silicone-based lube. They can cost more but i think its worth it. The water-based ones can dry out when the water starts evaporating not so with silicone they stay slick for much longer. Stay away from vasline to lube up since it degrads condoms.
I also like enemas. Nice and clean and I havent found any irration but that can vary.
Ive heard tails of people some wine or vodka in the enema to help numb the ass but have never tried it and it may just be an urban legend. Has anyone out there heard of this?? Or tried it??
