Nowadays, "above the call of duty" and "beyond expectations" are very rare. It's usually below and below. For me, 1,500 is the max tip - for a guy who does everything I have asked for (I'm quite vanilla, not unusually demanding) and leaves me fully satisfied. I guess if I'm ever so lucky to encounter someone who exceeds my expectations, the tip would be 1,600 too.
Good we're sharing this so we don't inadvertently add to inflationary expectations in the market.
