Agree with all the last three posts, but with my own twist.
To be honest I walk into a go-go bar with the initial intention of checking out the bodies, the looks etc. I probably off a boy once in 30 visits. During 99% of the visits I don't ask boys to sit with me.
I've worked in Bangkok well over 20 years and I'm very selective (read very fussy).
When I do invite a young man to sit with me i talk a lot in Thai, ask about family, encourage the young man to talk, etc., with a 100Baht tip given privately as soon as the young man sits down, always getting around to politely telling the boy what sex i'm looking in detail, and asking if he's willing. All of this is completed in 15 minutes.
If I realize it's not what I want, then I will politely say, in Thai, "not tonight, have to be at work early in the morning" or similar. I pay the bill and leave. My thoughts are 'tonight's not the night, maybe a diferent boy / different bar / different day'.
No extra tip given.
