I was in Hotmale last night. It had a show that lasted over than hour - most acts were BOLD - until I gave up and left. Prior to the show, I saw #20 on stage, hopefully the same #20 you're referring to. The boys do change numbers from time to time. The one I saw was medium slim, about 160 cm tall, perhaps 55- 60 kg, with lean musculature, and a tattoo.

He was offed by a long-haired Asian customer not more than 35 years old.

Drinks in Hotmale were 220 baht (Saturday night) but I don't know about the off fee, since I left alone.

I didn't see any #18, unless he was performing in the show, in which case they would have removed their number tags.

Pricing

Many threads on this.

Many have diferent feelings.

Assuming boy does what he says he will do I pay 1500 short time and 2000 overnight in Bangkok.

Things are tough now Iam sure you can pay less in many cases if it is important to you.

I do not buy boys drinks in BKK prefer giving them 100baht. getting ripped off for 250baht for a 12 baht can of a diet coke is quite enough profit for these bars.

IMHO

Tough times

There is also the point that the cost of living in Bangkok has gone up quite a lot over the last years, and even moreso in the last few months. One quick example: most cut fruits bought from a roving cart have gone from 10Baht to 15Baht in the last 2 weeks.

I agree, I don't buy them drinks. If i invite a young man to sit with me I very quickly but very privately slip him 100Baht, ensuring the man can see it is 100. I also quickly say in Thai 'better than drink tip'. invariably I get a 'chai, kop khun khrap' (yes,, thank you).

My rationale is that if you refuse a drink for the boy and you don't tip until you leave then there is the possibility the man thinks you are just stingy, and not the way to set up a good rapport with the man

Regards.

Why would you do that? In my opinion it's either a drink or a tip - whichever way it is he gets 100 baht. The customer may or may not be spending 100 baht for the tip or 200 baht or whatever it is for the drink but that's what customer choice is all about.

Bar Tip

I don't tie up a ;ot of the boys time. Usually within 5 minutes I have asked if he will do what i want and have a feeling if he is comfortable with that.

At that time I either tell him whether I will off him tonight or another. Or I will just tell him thanks and let him return to stage.

Under these conditions I feel 100 b is adequate.

I do agree if someone has boy sitting with him for an extended period of time during which he is not available to anyone else . That situation deserves a bigger tip if the boy is not offed.

Agree, but

Agree with all the last three posts, but with my own twist.

To be honest I walk into a go-go bar with the initial intention of checking out the bodies, the looks etc. I probably off a boy once in 30 visits. During 99% of the visits I don't ask boys to sit with me.

I've worked in Bangkok well over 20 years and I'm very selective (read very fussy).

When I do invite a young man to sit with me i talk a lot in Thai, ask about family, encourage the young man to talk, etc., with a 100Baht tip given privately as soon as the young man sits down, always getting around to politely telling the boy what sex i'm looking in detail, and asking if he's willing. All of this is completed in 15 minutes.

If I realize it's not what I want, then I will politely say, in Thai, "not tonight, have to be at work early in the morning" or similar. I pay the bill and leave. My thoughts are 'tonight's not the night, maybe a diferent boy / different bar / different day'.

No extra tip given.

I agree with Scoops. 100bt for 10 or 15 mins is fine. If a boy can have 5 or 6 chats a night and take 500 bt every night he can live reasonably, and if 1 in 5 guys off's him at 1,000 to 2,000 he's doing well.

Much better to give him 100 baht than spend 200+ on a drink from which he gets about 30 baht and often leaves the drink. As soon as the captain approaches me to buy a drink I say (so the boy can hear) "I give boy tip .. dii-gwaa " ... , and always get a smile and maybe a squeeze of hand from the boy. Sanook ! Usually the captain smiles and agrees (good bar understands the boys need to make a quid ... in which case I usually tip the captain 20 or 40 baht as well) . If the captain scowls and walks away, mental note .. this bar doesn't give a sh*t for it's boys.. only its own profit .. hence no tip for captain ! I'm such a bitch !

-- Y'day., (20th.), evening I went to SCREWBOYS A GO-GO BAR, wch. is towards the Tnn. Suriwong end of PHAT PONG 2.. That was only my 2nd. visit thither since its return from SOI TWILIGHT.
- ETA.: 22.10hrs.;
- Drinks: 200.Bh.;
- I was shewn to a seat stage RIGHT, so I could not see the boyz' numbers too well;
- Approx. ten spectators, incl. 'The Pest.' present;
- There were two to four boyz dancing energetically on the raised lip at stage front; behind them were ten or so R&F. a go-go boyz who are v. much run-of-the-mill.
- Hse. lts. dimmed at 22.15.hrs.;
1.- Two dancing boyz - one wore a white face-mask and a long cloak, the other had pulled-down the front of his black briefs the better to shew-off his assets - both boyz well-endowed;
2.- Two boyz in a Bold Act; to me the T*p, who is well-edowed by anyone's stds., looked to be a bit on the hy. side but he performed quite adequately enough - all ground work; after a while the pr. circulated amongst us voyeurs, but only for those sitting stage LEFT.
- Hse. lts. came ON again at around 22.35.hrs..
- Of the R&F. boyz #21. - wearing briefs with a red waist-band - looked to be the best endowed; of the energetic dancers it was #92. that caught my att'n. - a thin and a rather effem. looking boi, (who looked to me as though he could be a v. active B*tt*m in bed?), wearing a black shoulder-holster amongst other accoutrements. His name is Khun PORN, (spelled-out twice for me - an ignorant farang - by one of their M'sans.!),.
- I paid my bill for 200.Bh. with a 500.Bh. note and was pleased to note that the change was not all 100.Bh. notes but incl. some of smaller value - useful for TIPS..
- I left soon after.

yesterday my dear pushed me nearly out-and its since 5-6 yrs that I made a round of Silom/Suriwong. Oh my god......
SOLID: Mr. Lek-a very old+dear acquintaince-has left-they say to Jomtien/Pattaya. Stayed for about 30/40 mins and saw some 5-6 others enter. Boys rotate slowly-about 12/14 present-an overdose of tattoos-also around bellies and navles. And a competition of who can move the least. Nr 11-look kreung-tattoo on 1 shoulder- must have the gist farang come for him and was quite flirtatious-but he had a goldchain already-as had quite a few boys too. 1 or 2 shy-fresh from the ricefields- and still in need to get used to BKK young boys. The 1 who caught my fancy-for just maybe some more talk-was invited by another farang.
Drinks are still 100B/soft and now 120/Alco-incl. Heiniken- I asked for Chang first and this was greeted with some horror-you see I was away from bars for too long.
SOI 4-walked in and out-and saw the never changed usual supply of dek new and many mixed couples. Former club Rom is open again as a stark-white trendy design club-drinks 100 B/show-''cabaret'' at midnite.
HOTMALE. Decided on this 1 as to various recent reports. Formerly TWILIGHT-long, long ago nd still too many katoeys, incl. some new-designed ones looking modern-away without that tipical katoey look!. Stairs and WC needs thorough upgrading. Came early to secure good seat for that show-which showed unneeded. All drinks weekdays also 220. Show started 10/15 mins late-some 30/40 drinks=customers present, incl 2 black label sets. Before the gogo was even more as in Solid-a competition who can move the least. About half of them much older-muscular and toolong in the trade ex-boys. Just before show started 3 Thai lads set beside me and ordered Heinikin-and became quite flirtatious after a while when I reacted on their allinThai comments on the dancers.
Show had 4-5 parts-and was all done by the boys themselves-happily no cabaret. Reminded me of Midnight Cowboy/Sapan Kwai long, long ago. An SM like soldier-whipping it up to some prisoner, 2/3 guys in black plastic doing some suggestive dance, 1 more of that in another style, big-C parade (shock-horror- I recognised some barboy who was long behind is prime in my first yrs here in BKK-18 yrs ago-must be near 50-and had long breasts and a kwoi vacuum-enlarged.
The best part for me was some really good/erotic dancing from younger boys in orange overalls-showing they could do that quite well, but around an old-style katoey.
The final consisted of the most unlikely duo of boys for that-would never have set my bets they would do that-a 20/30 mins coupled parade all through the bar and beside every customer-soliciting more tips.
Positive for Hotmale is they hardly push-and not at all inside. Tip; tell the pushers in this soi in thai ''thang noi''-a bit commanding-and they back away. ''ruu lew-duu lew''=have seen, know already'' also does the trick quite well.
Then made a kind of farewell around the block-counted some 40+ freelancers-mostly former barboys-I think-and 3-4 fresh faces (well, really dont know that-but looking younger). No need for 2552 to revisit for me.

and oh yes: in both bars smoking was rampant from other customers-even though Hotmail has signs telling ''haam sup buree'' every 2 mtrs or so. It had-beside the loo-the pissoirs were open to see in for anyone coming off the stairs-a room wit some coin-computers-I guess for their hotmails.

Question

Pong: What do y mean by "the most unlikely duo of boys"? Did they join the "RF " parade before so they are offable (Nrs.?). Maybe a stupid question but what happens if these guys are offfed before "their part", do es another couple overtake?

Since pong himself said he hadn't been into a gogo bar in 5 - 6 years, I think maybe I'm better placed to answer your question (also, from his description, he must have seen the short, midnight, version of the 10:30 pm show I saw).

Generally, the bars do have stand-by performers. Firstly, because the mgt do plan for the eventuality and secondly, the boys doing the act earn quite a lot of tips from going around the room, so boys do volunteer to do it.

If there are no stand-by performers, or if the boy, despite having a prospective customer, still wants to do the show, he and the mamasan will try to negotiate with the customer to wait till after the show before the boy is taken off. (This happened to me recently at Future Boy, though the boy in question was doing a suckfest act, not a coupling show)

Alternatively, as a last resort should the boy be taken off and there is no replacement, that item is left out of the show.

As for your first question, my guess is that Pong was surprised to see two masculine guys doing the coupling act. In the old days - 5 or 6 years ago - it was de rigour for the bottom to be a fem.
