I am an older farang and in my experience young western gays, particularly from the US and Australia, do have an issue with partnering with older men. Fortunately for me I have kept fit and slim and look years younger than my true age and have little difficulty in attracting younger partners, although I now prefer asians, especially Thai's, who do not seem to discriminate based on age, although, like most of us, prefer good looking, fit and trim men. I also think that younger, age conscious western gays tend to be vacuous and not all that good in bed despite their youth.
