Please don't believe Mamasans. The going rate is 1,000 baht for short time and perhaps 1500 for overnight.
Mamasans are just trying to jack up rates to make up for the shortage of customers. That's the crazy Thai way of doing business: The fewer the customers, the higher prices must go to make up for shortfall in revenue.
Rates have not changed for a few years now because customers are steadily dwindling. It's a buyers' market. See my next posting about the dismal situation tonight in Bangkok.
