I confirm pretty much the same summation re Japan. Luckily I worked 3 days out of every 14 working in shanghai which I enjoyed very much for entertainments, plus I had to work in Bkk about 5 or 6 days every month. I quickly wrote Japan off as not worth the trouble of trying.
