Since there is no real meeting place in Downtown LA, let's start a thread on hooking up in the area. Macy's 3rd floor bathroom and the tired Arco Towers bathroom ain't cuttin' it, buds. The Standard rents rooms for as low as $99, if anyone wants to host a daytime event. No that's not me in the picture - that's just a cheap attempt at getting people to look into this thread.

Isn't there MIDTOWNE SPA, 615 S. Kohler, Downtown? Think they sponsor a "Bear and Bear-Fans Night" once a month.

i admit the ancient klyt baths isn't very nice but it is an inexpensive place to hook-up. i suggest you make pre-arrangements with the 'type' of guys you are seeking and have a fabulous time once you meet them there.
i know several guys who first met @ the score (gay bar accross the street) then they went to the klyt and had scads of fun with one another. having sex in public places remains a super shitty idea!!! familiarize yourself with section 647(a) of the california penal code.the public rest rooms you mentioned are constantly being monitored by law enforcment!!!! |

KLYT BATHHOUSE is located at 132 E. 4th Street, Downtown LA
Someone from the board here e-mailed me once and suggested that Tuesdays and Thursdays were the best & only days to go. Heard that SCORE BAR has been sold, name change. No longer after the gay customers. Gone "tendy" and "up-scale" like a lot old Downtown is becoming. KLYT BATHHOUSE is in the heart of Skidrow. There is a YMCA Downtown ...for you steamroom types. |

Profile updated. Does the YMCA charge money? I called once and thought they said it was $25. Does anyone know if the renovated 24 Hour Fitness in arco towers will have men-only sauna/steam room? Just looking for a cruising spot or place to gather during the day/lunchtime and Downtown seems to be lacking. I mostly want to just give head or watch someone jerk off - nothing unsafe.

A room at the MIDTOWNE SPA is $28 (lockers cheaper) and their 1/2 price rooms day are Tuesdays, hence $14 for a room on Tuesdays. You had quoted $99 for a hotel room at the Standard in your first thread (take it you were planning to help out on the cost???) .... $28 and $14 at MIDTOWNE is MUCH CHEAPER.
You expected the YMCA to be free??? lol, lol The $25 you were quoted for the YMCA is probably their one-time use price ... yearly memberships available, then divide it down how many times you plan to visit, hence cheaper per visit. I am pretty sure if you call and set up an appointment that they will give you a free tour. http://www.ymcala.org/Branch/Default.aspx?ENT=60 and according to their site, no more is turned away with the ability to pay, hence a sliding scale. But sounds like you are a Downtown business professional, hence not eligible for bargain prices, unless you lie to them (wear ripped and dirty jeans when touring the facility). I believe KLYT BATHHOUSE has specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But I think Downtown LA will be quiet the next two weeks due to the Holiday time. Starting in January, why don't you make every Thursday "Bears & Admirers Unite Day" at KLYT and then the same every Tuesday at MIDTOWNE SPA? Then hit the BEARS monthly event at MIDTOWNE too. There would be your events that you think Downtown is lacking. Bathhouses are perfect for giving/receiving head ...jacking-off ... condoms even provided so no activity will be unsafe (that's condoms at MIDTOWNE, I do not know what KLYT provides). Showers to clean up in .... with the bonus of steam/sauna at both, with MIDTOWNE even having a whirpool and swimming pool. |
